The CPO had spent all morning clearing up the mess in 2ndry Engineering, thanks to the orders of the acting chief, the pseudo-pointy-ear'd freak of logic, Lt Semme, but the hard work did have some benefits... at least, they would tonight, when he had a date set up with Polly Fitzgerald in the Science dept. Stepping through the doors to Engineering, he reuploaded his PADD data to the computers, and sat at the duty EO's desk, reviewing the jobs to be done for the afternoon shift, and after clearing the work orders, continued to chat up Crewman Franceska Olends - a tricky task for him, but by no means impossible... ~The impossible just takes longer...~ Flashing a smile at her, he rolled his sleeves up and got back to the job at hand. (reply none) (Posted by GC) (USS Dennison-Bridge Commander Trevan West -13:45) The centre seat, although not unfamiliar to him, was still a tad uncomfortable place to be, especially not on a new Starship. Trevan looked around to make sure everyone was where they needed to be for duties. He himself managed to enter a log into the computer and get the current ship status before mustering up the courage to command this crew. He rose from his seat, looked towards the viewer and then at his helm officer, "Helm, put us on course 127 mark 04." It didn't need to be stated, they were already underway, he just needed to make his presence known and felt to those around him. "Science, do we have any further information about this region of space?" then turned to his tactical officer, "Any contacts?" (Reply All on Bridge) (Posted By Kerry Fletcher) (USS Dennison-Sickbay-CMO Lieutenant (j.g) Lewis Nymes-14.00) Nymes sat back in his new chair, mulling over the events of the day, and still remained shocked at them. He hadn't expected Gr'iann to stay around forever, but even so, he was used to the Caitian Admiral, and it was nice to have that safety net. Now, with the promotion, he'd be acting on his own, with Starfleet medical presumably sending a fresh faced ensign out to act as ACMO. Nymes had to grin at that. The paperwork was mounting up, and Nymes was spending his convalescence approving supply requests, and micromanaging the teams; performing the duties of ACMO and CMO together. ~Unless I get better quickly, I'll NEED a new ACMO~ Looking over the PADDs, one drew his attention: an encoded report from Ft Bragg, and Commander Falkirk, with a request for a secure face-to-face with the CMO. Shrugging mentally, Nymes tapped out his security codes into the communications systems, and activated the comlink. =/\= This is the Office of the CMO, Ft Bragg; Ensign Porwa speaking =/\= "This is Lewis Nymes of the Dennison for the Commander" =/\= Standby =/\= The screen blinked, and was replaced by the gruff face of Commander Falkirk. =/\= I thought I made myself clear, ENSIGN, I cannot divulge any classified information to you. =/\= "Yes sir, you did say that, but you are no longer in full possession of the facts. I am now CMO of the Dennison, and under my remit, I request all the files pertaining to Ensign Ash Divay to be sent to me, so I can fulfil my responsibilities to my ship and crew, and make a full assessment of our ATAC/SEC." =/\= Lieutenant? Thats quite a promotion, as is someone like you making CMO. =/\= "Be that as it may, sir, I still request the information, and expect it to be complete. Nymes out." The screen blinked off, and Nymes sat back, his brow glistening with sweat, his stomach cramping as he let down the facade he was holding throughout the communique. (reply none, any) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison, Bridge, Commander Trevan West, 1355) Things seemed to be going well with his first shift in command of the Dennison. They were on course, nothing unusual was happening. Trevan decided to make his old habit play out on the bridge and walked to each individual station to monitor what was going on and to get to know the bridge crew. Trevan was just on his way over to the OPS station when the ship shook with the thunder of a thousand horses. Quickly his mind raced on what to do. "Full sensors, I want to know what the hell that was. I am assuming it was the same unknown sub-space disruption from before unless you can tell me otherwise." he barked. He spun on his heel towards tactical, "Tactical, go to yellow alert and damage report." Trevan tapped on his comm. badge "Bridge to Captain Davis, we may have a problem up here. You are needed on the bridge." he waited for a reply that would never come. "Bridge to Holodeck One." again nothing. "Bridge to Engineering, status report. The comms are down to holodeck one get them online." Trevan sprinted back to the command chair. "Helm full stop." His sensor panel was showing a power spike in the plasma system. That would knock out power but not the comm. system. He summoned security. "Security, get down to Holodeck One and get the Captain up here on the double. "Bridge to CSO, Full report." (reply all) (Posted by Kerry Fletcher) (USS Dennison-Bridge ACSO Dale Bracken -13:46) The party over, and not needed for the sim, Dale had headed up to the Bridge for her duty, “Should be a fairly quiet one” she had reasoned, standard sweeps and the like. She settled in to her station at the main science station, her mind already focused on the screen in front of her rather than anything else on the bridge. "Helm, put us on course 127 mark 04." Dale continued her duties, largely ignoring the command. She could already tell from the sensor displays in front of her were they were headed. "Science, do we have any further information about this region of space?" then turned to his tactical officer, "Any contacts?" Dale spoke up, turning briefly, before returning her attention to the screen as she replied. “There’s been some odd reports Sir, some unusual spacial phenomenon, but a lot of the information is classified, or at least difficult to plough through even for us that know about such matters. Looks fairly clear where we’re headed though, nothing on sensors anyway, Sir, We're keeping 'em peeled.” (Reply West, any on bridge) (Posted By Mark) (USS Dennison, Main Engineering, EO/CPO Sammy Ulston, 1357) "And that was when the plasma coolant injector exploded - i was covered in the white coolant for the rest of the ball, the dress uniform was ruined!" Sammy finished his story, his eyes finally telling him that which he suspected all along. ~This chick digs me~ "So when.." Sammy was cut off as he was thrown from his chair. "Talk later, chick. - team leaders, give me sitreps!" he ordered. Sammy grimaced as the reports came in. Warp field stability was up at 100%, but had flucuated down to 96% for 0.4 seconds, and the plasma relays had toasted themselves, just to be cooled down by the emergency systems... =/\=Bridge to Engineering, status report. The comms are down to holodeck one get them online.=/\= "Engineering. Chief Ulston. Plasma spike in the relays, sir. EPS manifolds couldnt take the strain, getting random reports of sub-critical system failures across the ship, all decks, mainly starboard side." (reply bridge) "Aye sir. Warp core stability fluctuated, but back at 100%. Emergency systems operational, suggest full stop til We get the plasma lines back up." (reply bridge iyw) "Aye sir, Engineering out." Sammy finished his report, and turned to the engineering teams. "What are you all waiting for, get to work on the repairs..." he stopped mid-order as the teams looked up from the engineering repair locker.. "Oh, very good. Carry on then." (reply any) (Posted by GC) (USS Dennison-Sickbay-CMO Lieutenant (j.g) Lewis Nymes-14.04) Nymes nausea returned as the ship lurched beneath them, and the lights went out in sickbay, replaced by the dark luminenscence of the emergency lighting. "Computer, restore illumination." Nothing. "Sickbay to Bridge...."Nymes ordered. "Sickbay to engineering?" Still nothing. Now the nursing staff had noticed the lighting failure, and Dylan Hedges had rushed in, phaser in hand, expecting another attack on the CMO of the Dennison. "Relax, Dylan, looks like a power problem, comms are down." "Sir..." Dylan responded, obviously concerned at his superior's illness. "Prepare sickbay for any eventuality, medical emergencies. Set up a runner system to all departments, priority messages only - Sickbay is now on Emergency triage status." "Aye sir." Nymes walked back into the sickbay to calm down the staff, and do his bit. (USS Dennison - Sickbay - CMO Lt. Lewis Nymes - 1415) Nothing. Nada. Zip. Well, there had been the three crewmen that tripped into a bulkhead when the lights flashed; and the engineering team that had a faceful of non-heated plasma coolant, but the CMO wasn't required. "Cheif, I'm going to the bridge to find out whats going on." (USS Dennison - Bridge - CMO Lt. Lewis Nymes - 1417) Stepping out onto the bridge, medical kit on his shoulder, Nymes was amazed by the scene of organised chaos infront of him. "Commander, as the Comms are still down, Can I ask what the hell is going on in the ship now?" (reply West) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison, Bridge, Commander Trevan West 1358) =/\=Bridge to Engineering, status report. The comms are down to holodeck one get them online.=/\= "Engineering. Chief Ulston. Plasma spike in the relays, sir. EPS manifolds couldn't take the strain, getting random reports of sub-critical system failures across the ship, all decks, mainly starboard side." Trevan thought about it for a moment. =/\= Alright Chief, get on it. Status of warp engines?"=/\= he asked "Aye sir. Warp core stability fluctuated, but back at 100%. Emergency systems operational, suggest full stop till We get the plasma lines back up." Trevan thought it was odd that the warp core fluctuated. Only intense sub-space distortions could affect them. "Way ahead of you Chief. Also we are now experiencing comm. failures from random parts of the ship. I suggest we get that problem fixed first." "Aye sir, Engineering out." Sammy finished his report, and turned to the engineering teams. Now things started to get critical, the Captain was out of contact and possibly on her way to the bridge but for now it was up to Trevan to keep control. Just then, some of the lights started to flicker and some of the aft stations went out. Nothing critical but they shouldn't do that. He assumed Engineering was on top of the situation so he ignored it for now. Trevan leaned over to his panel and hit the intra-ship comm. He wasn't sure if it was going to get through to everyone but at least some people would hear it and keep them safe. "Attention all hands, this is the Bridge, all personnel remain at duty stations until this situation is resolved. Everything is under control," he said in a hopeful voice, "all non essential crew please report to your quarters until further notice. Bridge out." "Ensign Bracken, I understand that some of your information is classified. I am aware of the files and have read them. Nothing you need to concern yourself with. Please give me a full report on sub-space in this region in thirty minutes." "Tactical, raise shields but maintain yellow alert." The aft turbolift doors swished open to reveal his Medical officer, and he didn't look happy. "Commander, as the Comms are still down, Can I ask what the hell is going on in the ship now?" Trevan was amazed at the language and tone of the CMO. "Doc, right now things are under control. We have partial comm. failure and other non critical system do to a sub-space phenomenon we are currently investigating. I need you here on the bridge. You can use aft station four as your window on the ships' status and the crew. Engineering is getting the comm. system to sickbay up as their first priority." Trevan then rose out of his seat and calmly walked over to Bracken and whispered in his ear, "Lt, I suggest in your own best interest to keep your tone to a familiar one. No need to create panic. I need all my staff to maintain calm. As you were Lt." (reply any) (Posted by Kerry) (USS Dennison, Bridge, CMO Lt.jg Lewis Nymes 1416) "Commander, as the Comms are still down, Can I ask what the hell is going on in the ship now?" Nymes saw the commander rise to brief him further, and perhaps admonish him for his arrival on the bridge. "Lt, I suggest in your own best interest to keep your tone to a familiar one. No need to create panic. I need all my staff to maintain calm. As you were Lt." "Sir." Nymes replied non-commitally. "Emergency power is holding at present in sickbay, non-vital system failures still persist; I've set up a runner-system to all departments for medical emergencies, if required; until the comms are restored." (reply West iyw) Nymes looked around the bridge as he sat down at the indicated station, which seemed to be an Ops/Science backup console, and was next to Dale once more. "Dee, what is going on?" he asked, his illness all but forgotten in the rush that surrounded the power failures. "Wheres the Captain and FO?" (reply Bracken) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison, Bridge, Commander Trevan West,1418) "Sir." Nymes replied non-commitally. "Emergency power is holding at present in sickbay, non-vital system failures still persist; I've set up a runner-system to all departments for medical emergencies, if required; until the comms are restored." Trevan was impressed that the young medical officer had a firm grasp of what needed to be done. "Good job, we have a runner system here as well. I will inform Engineering of the Sickbay status. As you were." he replied and watched the Trill head over to the aft stations. On the viewer there was nothing much of anything. The stars remained still as ever, but there was something out there he was sure of it even if he couldn't see it. Trevan sat back down, and for the first time he started to get a little nervous. There was no command staff around. It was all up to him. That thought sent a shiver down his spine, remembering the incident between the Boudicca and the Nimitz not so long ago. He started to tap his foot on the floor without even noticing. "Ensign Bracken, join me in the ready room please," he paused glancing around the bridge he noticed there wasn't many officers around to take command. 'I'm surrounded by children' he thought to himself. "Doc, I hate to say it, but, you have the bridge." He smiled then shot back a nervous joke, "Try not to hit anything." and with that he entered the ready-room. (Reply all) (Posted by Kerry Fletcher) (USS Dennison, Bridge, CMO Lt.jg Lewis Nymes 1419) "Good job, we have a runner system here as well. I will inform Engineering of the Sickbay status. As you were." he replied. Nymes had just started to get some answers from the ACSO when the 2O collared her and asked her to the ready room. Looking around, Nymes was aghast as he realised that suddenly he was the highest ranking officer on the bridge. ~Reminders of Whiskey~ [NRPG: Ollie "Whiskey" Nymes is a previous host] "Doc, I hate to say it, but, you have the bridge." West smiled then shot back a nervous joke, "Try not to hit anything." and with that he entered the ready-room. Nymes returned West's nervous smile as he stood from his console and made his way to the command chair, pausing as he did so to take note of how things looked on this side of the bridge, with the heavy weight of command, even if it was just for a moment. "Ops, give me a run down of all ship systems, starting with sensors, and status of all systems, and ship-wide failures." (reply ops [nrpg: is there an ops officer on deck? ?query npc character by anyone]) Nodding as the Ops officer reeled off the information, Nymes sat back into the chair. (reply any) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison, Bridge, ACSO Ens Dale Bracken 1418) The newly appointed CMO had joined her at the sciences station, his entrance to the bridge had been followed up by a quiet word from the Commander, Dale wondered what had been said, although in retrospect, probably didn’t want to find out. "Dee, what is going on?" he asked, his illness all but forgotten in the rush that surrounded the power failures. "Wheres the Captain and FO?" Dale turned to Lewis, tearing her attention form the report that she was preparing for Cmdr West. “Hi Lew, Not sure what’s happening yet, CO and FO are still down in the holodeck, some training exercise or other that Banowsky wanted to run. As to what’s happening her” She motioned to the screens in front of the CMO. “I’m just as uncertain about that I’m afraid.” (Reply Nymes) “Just keep an eye on these scans here Lew” Dale motioned again to a particular part of one of the screens. “Anything that seems … well, odd, let me know, I’ve got to report to West in a few minutes.” (Reply Nymes) (Posted by Mark Howard) (USS Dennison, Bridge, CMO Lt (jg) Lewis Nymes 1418) "Dee, what is going on? Wheres the Captain and FO?" Nymes asked. It was obvious that the ACSO was engrossed in her work, but eventually the young ensign teared herself from the screen and replied. “Hi Lew, Not sure what’s happening yet, CO and FO are still down in the holodeck, some training exercise or other that Banowsky wanted to run. As to what’s happening here” She motioned to the screens in front of the CMO. “I’m just as uncertain about that I’m afraid.” "Well, as long as she stays in one piece..." “Just keep an eye on these scans here Lew” Dale motioned again to a particular part of one of the screens. “Anything that seems … well, odd, let me know, I’ve got to report to West in a few minutes.” "Sure thing, Ensign." Nymes said, as Dale left her station, giving Nymes a brief second to overview the scans, something about spatial distortions in subspace, making the surrounding sector a "pock-marked" minefield of scars running through real-space. Now Nymes looked at it, his hypothesis would be the ship had run aground on the edge of one of the scars... but how it had interfered with the power systems he could not say. Nymes' concentration on the screens was broken as the Commander asked him to take the bridge. (reply none) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison, Bridge, ACSO Ens Dale Bracken,1422) "Ensign Bracken, join me in the ready room please," The commander seemed to pause, before adding "Doc, I hate to say it, but, you have the bridge. Try not to hit anything." and with that he entered the ready-room. Dale looked around the bridge, and saw that indeed, Lt Nymes was the most senior officer on deck, she looked at his slight discomfort as he headed toward the main chair. Picking up the PADD that contained her report, she followed the Commander into the ready room. (USS Dennison, Captain’s Ready Room, ACSO Ens Dale Bracken, 1423) Dale entered the room, only a few short moments after West, she approached the desk and handed the PADD over to him. “You wanted a full report commander?” (Reply West) “Thank you Sir. A short while ago something…enormous happened. I’m not certain what we hit, there’s nothing around us for over five hundred million kilometers. By the readings that we have, it was some kind of subspace anomaly, but what type and how large, I can't as yet say.” Dale paused in her report, thinking again of the readings “Odd thing is Sir, the Neutrino flux density was far and above what I’d expect for this region, look.” Dale didn’t know how much subspace Physics that the Commander knew, but pointed to a specific area of the PADD’s screen anyway. (Reply West) (Posted by Mark) (USS Dennison, Captain’s Ready Room, Commander Trevan West, 1424) “You wanted a full report commander?” "Yes I did, please..." Trevan gestured for her to continue with the report. “Thank you Sir. A short while ago something…enormous happened. I’m not certain what we hit, there’s nothing around us for over five hundred million kilometers. By the readings that we have, it was some kind of subspace anomaly, but what type and how large, I can't as yet say.” Trevan nodded, he didn't know what it was either but wasn't going to say anything. Dale paused in her report “Odd thing is Sir, the Neutrino flux density was far and above what I’d expect for this region, look.” That made Trevan raise an eyebrow, that was surprising and he had a funny feeling about it. The Ensign showed where the readings were coming from on the display PADD. Trevan took the PADD from her, looked at it briefly and then set it aside. He looked at her for a good minute or two, making sure this was everything they had on this region. Also to make sure she wasn't a double agent, since this was exactly the situation he hoped to avoid and mentioned this to Captain Davis on his arrival on board the Dennison. "Ensign, please have a seat. There is something we need to discuss." The Ensign sat on the couch while Trevan continued to stand. "Ensign," he sighed. He really didn't want to be dealing with this now, but with the Captain and First Officer missing, this matter needed to be dealt with. He continued. "what I am about to tell you is classified by the highest levels of Fleet Intelligence. Only myself, Captain and First Officer know about it. You are never to reveal what you are about to hear to anyone. Even me. The consequences are death. This is no joke." After the initial shock wore of Trevan proceeded to explain to Bracken about the enemy possibly using artificial wormholes to either transfer troops and ships or for surveillance purposes. "As you can tell we don't have much to go on, these are based on Intel gathered over the six months. We are ordered to investigate any anomalies in sub-space in hopes that it may lead to early detection or possibly to learn how they are doing this and stop them. These orders supersede any others by order of Fleet Intel. Your job now, is to gather as much information as possible without looking like you are doing it. We have no idea what is out there, or should I say, whom is out there. We could have possible double agents on-board, any number of things as you can well imagine." 'Gather your info, use passive sensors only. If direct scans are needed, do so but only briefly." "Full report on progress in one hour. Dismissed." Wilson brought up the ships systems and began reeling off a list to the CMO. "Internal Sensors are offline, and External Sensors are down to minimal. We're flying blind basically." Stephen said. "Life Support on some of the lower, Un-inhabited decks is failing and..." Just as Stephen was about to say it. The lights went down on the bridge. "Switching to Emergency Lights, Sir." With that Wilson tapped some buttons and some of the lighting on the bridge returned. "It seems some of the light have failed, Sir. Some of the ship is in the dark. And some of the ship is in half light" ~Like the Bridge.~ Stephen scrolled through some more Ship wide faliures and realised something. "I'm afraid, I can't get a hold of Sickbay. There something interfering with the sensor logs in that section of the ship, although what it is I haven't a clue." Wilson said trying to get a clear view of Sickbay, but nothing. "I believe the program running is one of the First Officer's, Sir. Although what the program entails, I cant say until Internal Sensors clear up." "Ok, what about tactical capabilities: shields, and weaponry. Are we dead in the water or just... stopped?" Nymes said. This is where Stephen had been hitting himself. He didn't know. "Shields are at 99% and holding although there is something on the outside draining them somehow but its a very slow process. Weaponry is ready but with nothing to shoot at its useless. In an essence we have just stopped for no reason." He said. A holodeck is running but lights are off in sickbay, comms are down all throughout the ship." Nymes pondered his next move. ~Dilemma; Stabilise Situation; gather information; deal with problem.~ "I hate to do this, but needs must." Nymes turned to the crewman at the entrance to the bridge, a youthful human apprentice, eager to be of service. "Crewman, I need you to find CSO Lt. Trewe, and ask him to come up to the bridge." he ordered. as he relaxed into the command chair, propping up his head with his hand, his illness still on his mind, throbbing through his veins, distracting him but a little. (reply Trewe, any) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison, Laboratory One, CSO, Lieutenant Jewort Trewe, 1432) Jewort had been trapped in his lab since roughly 1330 and was getting increasingly frustrated. There were many fail safes in laboratory one designed to keep people from entering. Jewort had spent the last hour trying to find a way out, to no avail. He tapped his comm badge repeatedly and that also yielded no results. Jewort, in frustration and desperation had started to look around the laboratory and began gathering parts. Soon, he fashioned together a device he hoped could at least get word to the bridge. Despite how hard he tried, there was no way for him to make a direct message, no type, no letters no sound except a beeping. Jewort finally hooked it into the computer bank in the room and began to tap, hoping someone on the bridge would understand. =^= - .-. .- .--. .--. -.. / .. -. / .. -.-. .. . -. -.-. . / .-.. .- -... --- .-. .- - --- .-. -.-- / --- -. . =^= Jewort waiting for a response and then added, =^=... . -. -.. / ... --- -- . --- -. . / .-- .. - .... / -.-. ..- - - .. -. --. / .--. .... .- ... --- .-. ... =^= (Reply any) (Posted by Jeff) (USS Dennison, Bridge, Ops Station, Ops Officer, Lt(jg) Stephen Wilson; CMO Lt. jg Lewis Nymes, 1434) Stephen looked down at his console as it began bleeping. Someone was trying to get a message to the bridge, and they went using the COMM Systems.. Well not directly. =^= - .-. .- .--. .--. -.. / .. -. / .. -.-. .. . -. -.-. . / .-.. .- -... --- .-. .- - --- .-. -.-- / --- -. . =^= There was a short pause and then =^=... . -. -.. / ... --- -- . --- -. . / .-- .. - .... / -.-. ..- - - .. -. --. / .--. .... .- ... --- .-. ... =^= The sound kept repeating. Stephen was confused, ~What the?~ He began using Communication translators trying to figure out what language it was. After a few minutes it came to him. ~Morse Code~. He brung up a translator and ran it threw the translation matrix and it came back as - "Trapped in science laboratory one" "Send someone with cutting phasors" "SIR." Stephen shouted. "Looks like I've found someone in the science labs. They're trapped." Stephen ran it through the computers speech buffers and made the computer speak what had just come through. After the computer had spoken out loud the message. Nymes' head had been rattled as the shrill beeps had come through the systems. Maybe it was just the stress of sitting in "the chair" or perhaps it was his recuperation; as things were at present, the trill doubted he would ever know. "Do you have a best guess as to who is in the lab?" "I would assume the CSO. I have nobody else reported in within the labs." Wilson said looking around. The bridge doors swished open as the crewman returned to the bridge, without the CSO. "Sorry sir; the Science labs were locked down, couldn't find the CSO anywhere..." Nymes shared a grin with the Opsman as the crewman looked on, completely unaware. Tapping a control on the chair, Nymes opened a channel to the ready room. "Commander, sorry to disturb you; We have a trapped crewman, we assume Lt. Trewe, our CSO, in Science lab one. He requests some assistance. I'm about to dispatch Lt. Wilson and an Engineering team to the Science department to free him." (reply West - room for more) "Ok, Lt, get down to engineering and pick up a team with the phaser cutters. Take this crewman with you as a runner. Tell me when you start the procedure." Stephen closed down the Ops station and handed it over to one of the more younger, inexperienced Ops Crewman. He turned and said "Yes, Sir." He looked at the crewman and nodded towards the turbolift. (USS Dennison, Engineering, Ops Officer, Lt(jg) Stephen Wilson, 1440) Stephen walked into engineering to find many officers bustling around. The lights were on emergency down here too, so it was harder to see where he was going. He made his way through the crowd until he found some crewmen that weren't doing anything imparticular. "You three. Your with me. You'll need some phasor cutters." He said in a commanding tone. Since both ACEO's were in the Holodeck Simulation he wasnt too sure who was in charge. And whoever it was he was sure he had a higher rank than them anyway. The crewmen nodded and one of them went of for a few minutes and returned with some Cutters. Wilson turned to the crewman he had brung with them. "Return to the bridge, notify the CMO that we will be starting momentarily. "Too Science Lab 1 we go, Gentlemen" Wilson said as he made a gesture towards the turbolift. (USS Dennison, Science Labs, Ops Officer, Lt(jg) Stephen Wilson, 1450) The team of crewmen had made good progress so far. They had successfully cut through most of the science department and were finally nearing Lab 1. "Come on, Lads." Wilson said. The crewmen lined up in front of the door to Lab 1. Wilson stood by it and shouted in "Lieutenant Trewe if you're near the door, I would advise you to stand back." (Reply Trewe IYW) Wilson stood back and watched the engineers work their magic. Within a few minutes the door was completely cut down. Wilson stepped in, "Lieutenant Trewe, Sir. You are needed on the bridge." (reply Trewe, any) (posted by Jono/GC) (USS Dennison, Laboratory One, CSO, Lieutenant Jewort Trewe, 1453) Jewort heard the group arrive and stood back as he was bid. He'd have to ensure that the security protocols were replaced afterwards, although he knew if they were actually working properly the room the crew were currently in and using cutting phasers would be flooded with gas to knock them out. Jewort took a second and called out to the computer, "Computer, if you hear me you lazy bucket of bolts, lock down all Darkstar research according to my protocol." [Research locked except for Professor Trewe] the computer intoned. Jewort shook his head and hoped. A few minutes later the door caved in before him. He looked at the face of the Junior Lieutenant in front of him and shook his head grimly. "What the devil is going on here!" Jewort shouted, "What have you people done with Her this time? I can't turn my back on any of you for a second without you screwing about with Her." (Reply Wilson, any) "Everything was fine and operational when we left port. I made sure of it. I can't believe that this crew can take a perfectly good starship and turn it into a malfunctioning piece of goo in such a short period of time. Are the turbolifts working at least or do we have to climb through everything?" asked Jewort, the vein on his forehead throbbing. "Well, what the devil are you waiting for? Lets get a move on! Bridge it is. I have to figure out which one of you dimbulbs hurt Her!" Jewort shouted, his anger not subsiding. (reply Wilson, any) (Posted by Jeff) (USS Dennison, Laboratory One, Ops Officer, Lt(jg) Stephen Wilson, 1457) Stephen watched dramatically as the door collapsed in on itself as he walked in to Lab 1 he got a reaction he wasnt quite expecting. "What the devil is going on here!" Jewort shouted, "What have you people done with Her this time? I can't turn my back on any of you for a second without you screwing about with Her." Wilson stepped back from the raging Trewe before even thinking of answering. "If your talking about the Dennison, Sir. Then I think you'll find its none of our faults." Stephen said in an attempt to calm the CSO down. Trewe continued as if not even hearing what Wilson had said, "Everything was fine and operational when we left port. I made sure of it. I can't believe that this crew can take a perfectly good starship and turn it into a malfunctioning piece of goo in such a short period of time. Are the turbolifts working at least or do we have to climb through everything?" asked Jewort, the vein on his forehead throbbing. Stephen stood back stunned that the CSO was raging at him for nothing. "Well, what the devil are you waiting for? Lets get a move on! Bridge it is. I have to figure out which one of you dimbulbs hurt Her!" Jewort shouted, his anger obviously not subsiding. Stephen nodded and turned to the engineering group. "Sort this mess out and then return to your normal shifts." He turned to Trewe. "To the bridge it is then." Stephen walked towards the nearest turbolift and stood inside awaiting the CSO. Once they were both in, Wilson tapped in the command for the bridge. A few moments later the turbolift started and then stopped half way through transit. ~Great~ Stephen thought to himself. He was stuck in a turbolift with the crazed CSO "Oh no" He said out loud. "It seems the Operations officer on the bridge isn't doing his job properly." Stephen said in an afterthought. He looked around the Turbolift and realised that the whole shaft seemed to have been closed down, or the power re-directed. But to where he didn't have a clue. There was no way he could re-route power to them, without power to do it with. He looked around for the emergency hatch and tried to force it open, its was futile. The hatch was firmly jammed shut, ~Of all the bad look on all the bad days..~ Wilson thought, he turned back to Trewe and shrugged. It seemed like there was something on the outside of the turbolift pushing against the hatch. (Reply Trewe) (Posted by Jono) (USS Dennison, Turbolift, CSO, Lieutenant Jewort Trewe, 1459) Jewort looked at the man behind him and shook his head as the turbolift ground to a halt. He watched with amused interest as the man tried to force open the emergency hatch. Shaking his head Jewort reached past him. "Just get out of the way," grumbled Jewort. He was Rigelian and as such he claimed heritage with the Vulcan race. While his race possessed no telepathic powers, the Rigellian species did boast a similar physical strength. This was the reason they were seen as such proficient warriors. Jewort grabbed hold of the exit hatch and pulled, soon it gave way. "Well, lets get climbing. I just knew we'd have to climb," Jewort groused as he started out of the hatch and into an adjacent Jeffries tube, "Just follow me and try to keep up." (Reply Wilson) Designing the ship had its perks, of that there was no doubt. As a result of his work, Jewort had a fairly good command of the layout of the Jeffries tubes. The pair began to work their way up to the bridge. What Jewort had not mentioned was that a number of critical systems, ones on the surface being deemed as unimportant, could put the entire ship at risk... most notably the separation system, the one part of the ship he knew was flawed, but still hadn't figured out how to repair. Soon, Jewort found himself opening the hatch to the bridge. (USS Dennison, Bridge, CSO, Lieutenant Jewort Trewe, 1519) Jewort hauled himself out with Wilson behind him and began to dust himself off. He looked around the bridge for a second, "Well? I'm here. Who's in charge?" (Reply any) "So what's going on here? Do we have any scanning systems internally or externally?" Jewort stated again, with a raised eyebrow, "See, that's why I like to ask the questions, it always makes me seem smarter than everyone else." (Reply any) He shrugged his shoulders and moved to the consoles, "See, now here's another problem. What's wrong with you people? I told you that the mutli-vector containment fields had to be calibrated and stay within my specifications. Do you know what happens to a multi-vector ship if the containment field isn't maintained? See? There again, question, makes me seem like the smartest. Amazing how that works, isn't it?" Jewort was aware that his voice was beginning to rise again in a tulmut of anger and annoyance. (Reply any iyw) "I'll make it simple for you. Ship falls apart, pieces drift away into something, go boom. I'd say we have about 30 minutes to restore power to those systems or we're going to have a lot more to worry about than turbolifts and holodecks," Jewort stated, his anger abating as the puzzle began to wear on his mind. (Reply any) (Posted by Jeff) (USS Dennison, Captain’s Ready Room, ACSO Ens Dale Bracken, 1425) "what I am about to tell you is classified by the highest levels of Fleet Intelligence. Only myself, Captain and First Officer know about it. You are never to reveal what you are about to hear to anyone. Even me. The consequences are death. This is no joke." ~Great, more secrets~ Dale thought to herself. This time however, the secrets where beyond top secret. Highest levels of Fleet Intel did indeed mean death if broken. Dale paled at the thought. She listened intently as West explained what Fleet Intel were thinking, using artificial wormholes to either transfer troops and ships or for surveillance purposes. It was an audacious move, but then, so is Project Darkstar, randomly, Dale wondered if West knew about that. Dismissed." “Yes Sir, I’m on it already.” Dale answered, getting up from the couch, and it was true, she was, if not physically, then mentally, she was wondering how she was going to manage it. Suddenly, life as a Science Officer was awfully complicated, almost on her shoulders alone, did the security of the entire fleet rest. If she failed, then everybody would perish. ~No pressure then girl, eh?~ (Reply West iyw) (USS Dennison, Bridge, ACSO Ens Dale Bracken, 1430) “Dismissed, I’ll take over here” Dale ordered the attending crewman, who though looking slightly disappointed, immediately nodded and keyed out of the science station. Dale keyed in her code, so unlocking the station, she switched all sensors to passive, and began to look into the area around them with a different, tactical eye, an eye that now had something to look for, but unfortunately, an eye that had no way of looking directly. ~How to start looking for wormholes without looking for them, Hmmm… tricky.~ (Reply any on bridge iyw, none) (Posted by Mark Howard) (USS Dennison, Bridge, Commander Trevan West, 1455) With the meeting over with Bracken, Trevan wandered out back to the bridge only to discover most of the internal power systems were off-line. "Doc, I have the Bridge." he stated and a somewhat relieved Doctor gave up the centre seat. "Bridge to Engineering, all systems up here are off-line or on emergency power. I need power up here Chief, whatever you can spare. Also, get the systems to Sickbay up and running please." Trevan decided that things were going to get very interesting today, and with that, he decided he should take some action. "Tactical, go to Red Alert, but keep weapons off line. I don't know who is out there and don't want to provoke anything. Maintain shields for now." Trevan also started to wonder what the hell was keeping his runner that he sent down to Holodeck One. "Security, check on Holodeck One." he ordered and then out of frustration, "and someone PLEASE find out where the hell our senior staff is!" With that several people scrambled to get things done, weather it was done out of fear or out of the fact they didn't want to tick him off, he didn't care at the moment. Several moments later, power was restored to the Bridge, albeit not what they were used to. Most of the main systems were back online, however the viewer had a slight wavering effect that was making him irritated but there was nothing he could do. "Ok, Mikael, Jefferies, start on repairing the power distribution net to the bridge. D'arcie, get on Sickbay." The Chief ordered. Sammy watched as the Engineering deck was a hive of activity, populated by the yellow-collared bees of engineering staff, working in the dull blue glow of the warp core. With the Acting Chief and ACEO absent, Sammy was running the deck, and still having to pull his shift, overseeing the entire repair schedule. D'arcie was a young Drecealian lady, a species unfamiliar to the Chief, but what he lacked in knowledge of her species he made up with adoration in her engineering skills. She was the fastest member of his duty staff at simple, dextrous repairs, her fingers doing things faster than the human thought was even possible. Mikael and Jefferies were the engineering dept's comedy double act, a pair of jokers: Mikael the straight face to Jefferies hard humour. Looking over the screens, Ulston saw the problem before he realised the ramifications that it could mean. Sickbay's power relays aren't handling the reroute, D'arcie. Stop!" "Aye, chief..." She seemed desponant. "Contingency: D'arcie, fire up the 2ndry Sickbay." "Underway." she fired back. Ulston was impressed at her ability to bounce back. "Bridge, this is Engineering. Sickbay repairs are at the moment, unworkable. Power has been transferred to Secondary Sickbay." Sammy replied. "Latest reports show main and auxillary power has failed on that deck, Main Sickbay is blind. Suggest redirect of personnel." (reply Bridge) "Sir!" Jefferies was reporting in. "I mean, Chief! (Reply any) (Posted by GC) (USS Dennison - Personal Quarters - TAC/SC - Lt. Khran - 14.45) Khran opened his eyes and let out a low moan. "Ooooohhh." His skin felt like it was a hundred thousand Kelvins. Another case of a damned Rigelian Fever. He had a chronic case of them at the Academy. He got up and staggered painfully into the sonic shower and had to lean up against the wall to keep from falling down. After his shower he managed to drag his uniform on and then walked to the replicator. "Water, cold, VERY cold," he ordered, and a clear glass of ice water appeared. He grabbed it and drank it down quickly, it helped his fever for a few seconds at least. He sighed and walked out of his quarters. (USS Dennison - Main Bridge - TAc/SC - Lt. The long hike and climb to the bridge was hard and he had to rest several times along the way. Khran knew he should go to Sickbay, but Nymes would just confine him to quarters for a week and give him some medication to help himself, but he had a job to do. He used his sleeve to clear the sweat from his blue skin and silently walked onto the bridge. Things seemed... out of place. He frowned. "What is going on here?" he asked to himself. He frowned and turned to Dr. Nymes, "Lieutenant, give me a report," Khran asked his junior officer. (reply Nymes, any) (Posted by Kevin Schram) (USS Dennison, Bridge, CMO, Lieutenant jg Lewis Nymes, 1521) Nymes' face continued to be confused as the TAC/SEC made his way to the bridge, but instead of the normal vigour displayed by the CSO, this man looked dreadful: out of breath, fatigued, panting... Without realising it, the trill was making a diagnosis before he even knew it. Khran's question shook it out of him. "What is going on here?" he said, almost to himself, following with, "Lieutenant, give me a report," "Aye sir. We are dead-stopped, running on emergency back up power systems after what ever it was caused us to stop. Khran coughed for a few more beats, then, "Negative, Lieutenant. We're in the middle of an emergency, a officer of my seniority needs to be on duty. My illness will pass," Khran said. "Yes sir." Nymes responded. "But its my job to make sure that in an emergency all competent officers remain that way. It will only take a couple of minutes." "Fine, fine. Run your scans," Khran reported, and led Dr. Nymes into the observation lounge. (reply Nymes, any) (USS Dennison - Obs. (reply Khran iyw) Nymes took the medical kit off his shoulder and opened it, finding the standard equipment for field medicine - a selection of hypospray packs, a dermal regenerator, some minor, some major surgical apparatus and the trusty medical tricorder. Taking the scanning device, he started asking his questions. "So, Lieutenant, how long have you been off-colour?" he asked, moving the medical piece around the andorian's head. (reply Khran) "I see. And have you ever had a condition like this before?" he followed up. (reply Khran) "Well, I agree with you that this ship needs its experienced officers on deck at a time like this, but these scans aren't sitting well with me at the moment. I'd like to give you an injection to treat the symptoms - any headache and cough et cetera - that you may be experiencing, and I'll pass you fit for duty, but I will want to see you down in Sickbay after this situation has resolved, is that understood?" (reply Khran) Nymes nodded, and selected his hypospray, cartridge, assembling the injector, depressing the contents into Khran's neck. "Now, if theres any other symptoms, or this jab wears off, give me a call immediately." (reply Khran) Nymes watched as the TAC/SEC left the lounge, and stood there, packing up the contents of the medical kit. ~A minor case of Rigellian Fever. "So, Lieutenant, how long have you been off-color?" he asked. "About fourteen hours, give or take," Khran said with a hint of scarcism on using the Human term. "I see. And have you ever had a condition like this before?" the doctor asked. "Yes, when I was 15 years of age," Khran said, and memories of the Summer of 2388 started rushing back to Khran, the least memorable of which was his case of the Rigellian fever. "Doctor, has I said earlier, you can't convince me to Sickbay, its obvious something is wrong here," he said. "Well, I agree with you that this ship needs its experienced officers on deck at a time like this, but these scans aren't sitting well with me at the moment. Khran scoffed, he would THINK about going to visit the doctor later, but instead told him, "Very well." The doctor injected him and said "Now, if theres any other symptoms, or this jab wears off, give me a call immediately." "I will, thank you." Khran said, and stood up and strolled out of the observation lounge and into the bridge. (USS Dennison - Main Bridge - TAC/SC - Lt. Khran - 15.37) After a few moments of doing some tactical scans of the area, Khran decided it was time to introduce himself to the officer in charge, Lt. West. He straightened his uniform tunic and approached the man. "Sir, I am Lt. Khran, the chief tactical officer and security chief of this vessel. I'm afarid I've been..." he paused and coughed a few times, the medication Dr. Nymes had given him was just starting to take effect now, most likely due to a Rigellian cure on an Andorian body. (reply West, any) (Posted by Kevin Schram) (USS Dennison, Bridge, CSO, Lieutenant Jewort Trewe, 1523) Jewort looked around the bridge. It was clear that things were in disarray. Quietly he closed his eyes. His mind went to a flash, 'seeing' the separation module first. In a mind's eye, he could see the placement struts starting to buckle and sheer without the added containment. He knew that would happen, it was a problem he'd been working on for some time. Jewort began to move into the jumble of circuits and neural gel packs that comprised the systems around the strut system and began to follow them, looking for a way to stablize that system without compromising any more ship systems. The reinforcement power couldn't be taken from the turbolifts, Main Medical was a problem... the holodecks were non-responsive. It was then that Jewort could feel the thrum of the engines. He had already amazed Bracken before by telling her at one point how fast the ship was going by 'feeling' the pulsing of the engines. Jewort had no doubt that in time she'd be able to do the same thing, still, there was something different this time. "The engines are slightly out of alignment, probably caused by whatever event has put us in this position in the first place. Lieutenant Wilson, if you can get a message to engineering to realign them, it might provide enough energy to hold the ship together. There is a good chance the alignment will have to be done manually, and in the next 23 minutes," stated Jewort blandly and looking to the ship's 2nd Officer, "That is if Commander West agrees that falling apart and dying is a bad thing. Its his call really." (Reply Wilson, West) (Posted by Jeff) (USS Dennison, Bridge,Commander Trevan West 1525) Trevan was in the command seat going over his figures when he over heard Lt. Trewe. Lieutenant Wilson, if you can get a message to engineering to realign them, it might provide enough energy to hold the ship together. There is a good chance the alignment will have to be done manually, and in the next 23 minutes," stated Jewort blandly and looking to the ship's 2nd Officer, " That is if Commander West agrees that falling apart and dying is a bad thing. Its his call really." Trevan didn't appreciate the tone nor the attitude of the Lt. "If the good Lieutenant would be so kind as to slow down and take a moment, he would realize that most of the major systems are online again. Engineering is working on the engines and I have been monitoring their progress. I thought since I am an ex Chief they could use a hand.." Trevan proceeded to explain that the internal comm. system is online to essential stations for now and that they were currently using the secondary sickbay until power to main sick bay can be restored. "Lt. I ordered all personnel to remain at their stations until further notice. Please, I need you the most now in the lab. Continue your scans, and see if you can enhance long range communications. Something is interfering with them. I need to contact some people." With that Trevan got up and walked back to the aft deck to look over the scans the ACSO had been running and then walked over to the tactical station. "Chief, like I said, maintain red alert. I now want a level 2 security force on all decks. Anyone that is not on duty should be assigned to their quarters." (Reply All) (Posted by Kerry Fletcher) (USS Dennison, Bridge, Commander Trevan West, 1530) "Lt Trewe, I need you assistance on an important matter. Our command crew and other officers seemed to be trapped in Holodeck One. I know this usually would be an matter for an engineer to handle but they are busy at the moment. I want you to go down there, find out what is going on, how this happened and how we can rescue them. Take a security team with you and you can, if the Chief will allow it, a few Engineers. Report to me in thirty minutes. Dismissed." Trevan looked around at the Bridge, again the viewer was wavering slightly and it was making him ill every time he looked at it. "Can we do something about the viewer? Otherwise the Doc's going to have to start treating me for space sickness." (reply Trewe, any) (Posted by Kerry Fletcher) (USS Dennison, Bridge, Bracken and West, 1535) If Dale were really pushed to admit it, she would, under duress, say that she was slightly out of her depth with the task that she had been given by the commander. She knew quite a bit about subatomic, and quantum physics, but it wasn’t her field of specialty. Certainly not enough to lead, no, carry out such a massive project on her own. Not that meant she hadn’t had a few results. A slight break had come when she had uncovered an apparent interaction of high enough levels of Tau neutrinos and verteron particles. This meant that they could, completely passively monitor what was happening in subspace, especially with regards to the wormhole. Trouble was, it wasn’t quite that simple, as she was about to report to a man that Dale didn’t know understood any of the science behind any of this. Leaving her post, she approached the Commander, PADD in hand. Nodding to him in greeting, she leant forward, and spoke clearly, but quietly. “Progress report Commander. Good news…kind of.” Trevan looked skeptically at the young Ensign, "Kind of?" he trailed off and waited. “Good news is that we sort of can monitor the subspace passively” Trevan nodded, as this was definitely good news. He didn't really want to use a full scan and was happy with this news. Dale nodded, and continued “We can monitor interactions with Tau neutrinos and verteron particles, that’s quite easy. Trouble comes with a certain property of neutrinos. Namely Neutrino Flavour Oscillation. One type, can become another at almost any point. So although we can monitor the neutrino flux, there’s no way to tell if there are more neutrinos altogether, or just happen to be a spike in Tau neutrino levels.” Dale paused “I sorry sir, I’m doing the best I can, but I’m kind of making the science up as I go, this is proper oddball stuff to be honest.” Trevan looked her in the eye, "Oddball stuff is just part of the job." he smiled, "Now, if that is the good news, that means there is usually bad news as well. I am not fully versed in sub-space field mechanics but I am following you. Barely." Dale nodded, "I know sir, I'm sorry. The bad news is as I said, I'm on my own on this, making it up as I go, we've been lucky so far, but as you know, science can be funny sometimes Sir, Lots of lucky breaks in an hour and then nothing for ages. I'm doing my best though, and more". "Very well. Good job so far, keep me posted every thirty minutes or whenever there is a change. Also, if you need additional help, call on anyone you need. Top priority." "I'm not certain who can help sir. Other than Lt. Trewe there's no one else on board knows as much as i do about this. I might need to consult him, with your permission of course. His clearance is better than mine as you know." Trevan smiled again, "Actually, since our little meeting, you do have top clearance. However, I suggest you use some of the other Science officers on-board, perhaps Astrometrics can be of service. Lt Trewe will be assisting me in another matter." Dale nodded to him, “yes Sir, I’ll do just that, with caution of course. I’d better get back to it, these scans won’t run themselves.” Dale turned and returned again to her post at the Science Station, deposing again the sciences crewman who had replaced her. "Please could you ask the duty Astrometrics Officer to report to me, and that I have a rush job for them?" She asked of the crewman. It was a little unfair of her to get them running round the ship on her whim, but DAle wasn't certain if the turbolifts were fully operational as yet, and She didn't really have the time to climb down how many floors just to pass on a message. "I've been struck by an illness, however, Mr. Nymes has approved me for duty," he explained. Trevan looked right into his eyes and could see he was bothered by this illness. "Okay then. As of now, no. We are maintaining a red alert status but keeping weapons off-line. I mentioned it before but please make sure security is on a level two alert, with all the comm. failures they may not be aware of it. All crew are to remain at duty stations until further notice, all non-essentials are to be confined to quarters. Anyone seen moving around the ship that shouldn't be, take them to the brig and then alert me." Trevan now adjusted his uniform and took a less formal tone. "Ensign Bracken is running a project for me at the moment and requires most of the sensor systems. If you need them, talk to her.." he stated, "Also, what are you doing right now?" he asked. "Right now I am just monitoring the tactical and security stations, waiting to report on anything, but is there anything that you need my... abilities for sir?" Khran asked. (Posted by Kerry Fletcher) (reply any) (USS Dennison, Bridge, Commander Trevan West, 1540) With the Bridge running relatively smoothly, Trevan decided it was time to stretch his legs. He rose up and turned around to face the aft deck, "I'll be in my ready room if I am needed," looked at his Tactical Officer, "you have the Bridge." and with that he walked and entered the Ready Room. (USS Dennison, Ready Room, Commander Trevan West, 1542) On the Captain's desk was her computer terminal along with some other personal items, most of which had been on the floor earlier due to the jolt to the ship. Trevan placed his hand on the monitor and accessed the computer. "Computer, send a message to.." he paused and thought about Captain Clark. He didn't know how to get a hold of him since he really doesn't exist according to Fleet rosters. The computer replied, "Message can not be sent. No destination." Trevan silently cursed, "Obviously since I haven't given one yet." He tapped his fingers on the desk due to his growing impatience. "Damn it!" he exclaimed, "How the hell can I get a message to him without knowing where he is." he said aloud to no-one. It was his habit after all to talk to invisible people when he was angry. "Computer, do we still have access to sub-space relay station alpha four two?" he asked, and with a silent chirp the computer replied "Negative. Local instability in sub-space is preventing contact." "Okay then, if I wanted to contact relay station four two in an unstable sub-space region how would I do it?" then before the computer could reply he snapped his fingers, he had the answer! "West to Engineering, Chief, I know you are busy with everything but I need help with something. I will be down shortly. West out. (USS Dennison, Main engineering, Commander Trevan West, 1555) The Engine room of the Dennison was nothing like he had seen before on other starships. Sure there was the throbbing of the warp reactor pounding in the chamber surrounding it but the workstations were laid out in such a way that made solving problems with a large staff possible at once. He thought they ought to refit the entire fleet to be like this. "Chief. I need to be able to contact sub-space relay station four two. We can't since we are in a local un-stable region of sub-space. Turbolifts and replicators were also down, his gut feeling was that everyone's nutrition would get better on this one, but then, maybe everyone didn't like crawling through cramped tubes like he did. ~always better with women in tow.~ Smiling at his reminiscence, he was shocked out of it as the panel in front of him red off an alert for Holodeck one; a fire causing damage. ~Time to visit the patient... Lifesigns wise, he could make out the CO, FO, ACONN Ele ~Hmm, Ele~ and his boss, Semme. But Loyola's was absent, and Bashier's were vague, as if the tricorder couldn't decide. "Chief Ulston to Lt. Ulston was pretty sure he had a way of monitoring the holodeck, but no idea if the programme would withstand the procedure. He planned to make a drill hole in the holodeck wall and feed a camera sensor into it, allowing the bridge, at least, to see what was going on. As a first idea, it might just work. Looking up, he saw the 2O looking at him. "Chief. I need to be able to contact sub-space relay station four two. We can't since we are in a local un-stable region of sub-space. (reply all) (Posted by Kerry Fletcher) (Star Hawk–Multi-use Cargo Area – Ensign (JG) Chance Temerarious – 15:30) Hearing the alarm from the cockpit signaling that the ship was closing on the co-ordinates of the rendezvous point with the Dennison, Chance Temerarious ran his hand thru his hair and over his face saying to himself “I better shower, shave and change into my uniform.” Getting up out of his sleeping rack he casually strolled through his ship toward the cockpit thinking “Sometime it would be nice to just say “computer” and have whatever taken care of, but I still like having to do things on my own”. Sitting down in the pilot’s seat he starts pushing in commands for the auto pilot. Once finished with the controls he said to himself “1 more hour to go” as he started heading to the back of the ship to take care of hygiene and change into his uniform. Now cleaned and changed, Chance went though his ship making sure everything was secured and locked up so it wouldn’t fall everywhere when he came out of warp. That was one of many lessons he learned humorously the first time during the Cardassian War. Once everything was secured, he headed forward to the cockpit. Sitting in the pilot’s chair he checked sensors to make sure he wasn’t going to collide with another ship, put phasers on remote stand-by, he always traveled at warp speeds with shields up, and ran diagnostics on all on-board systems. Once satisfied that everything was to his liking, he took a deep breath, said a little prayer, reached up and pulled back on the warp throttle lever. Chance always tried to make sure he didn’t go to impulse power right in the middle of a battle. He did it regularly during the war, but that was one of the things he got paid for as a Privateer. Now it was a little different, he would still do it but only in his own ship if he was asked, or ordered to with a different ship. Once on impulse power, the only sight that caught Temerarious’ attention was the shape of an Indefatigable-class starship. Once on impulse power, the only sight that caught Temerarious’ attention was the shape of an Indefatigable-class starship. (reply Chase) "Tha.... ok, ens..n, rerouting comm channel to shuttle op...tions." Nymes said, transferring the FPV to the shuttlebay operations department - the trill knew that the shuttle team would be able to guide the new ensign either into docking range, or arrange any other alternative transfers for the new crewmember. (reply Chase) (posted by GC) (USS Dennison– Bridge - CMO - Lt (JG) Lewis Nymes – 15:40) Nymes looked around the bridge. With the appearance of the SEC/TAC Khran, Nymes was superfluous, and finally could excuse himself to check on the status of Sickbay. Nodding at Dee, the trill stood up, and walked over to the Jefferies Tube hatch, and started the descent down. Thinkning about things, the CMO detoured to the Shuttlebay, ready to meet the newest crewmember to the ship in the absence of the CO, FO and 2O. (USS Dennison - Shuttlebay - Lt.jg Lewis Nymes - 1549) Nymes walked into the shuttlebay which, like the rest of the ship, was running on emergency lighting. The Shuttle-ops panel was flickering, as the power surges manifested themselves in the deck. The ensign on duty acknowledged the new CMO as he entered, reporting as he went: "The FPV is in transporter range - the shuttlebay doors are sealed sir, the forcefields aren't stable, so the bay is out of commission." "Understood, Ensign. In this case, I'd prefer a site to site (pad to pad) transport; can you fire up the Topaz's prestart?" "I agree, sir. Prestart is completed. "Good initiative, ensign." Nymes grinned."Ok, I'll use the Topaz's systems to get him aboard. Keep monitoring status." (USS Topaz - Dennison Shuttlebay - CMO Lt.jg Lewis Nymes - 1552) Nymes opened a channel to the FPV. "Dennison to FPV. This is Lt Nymes, CMO." (reply Chance) "We are currently having some difficulties with power systems, and our shuttlebay operations team reported some errors. I think it would be better if you transported over to my coordinates into one of our shuttles in the bay; our transporters are being affected, so the Shuttle is our option, I'm afraid." (reply Chance) Nymes nodded, and sent the vessel the transporter coordinates, and the familiar humming whirred in, and the new crewmember appeared on the transporter PADD. He has found however, that in a doctor’s office, the doctor didn’t want to simply know what caused the injury, but wanted to know the entire story of the situation behind the injury. Chance didn't mind telling the stories of his wartime “misadventures”, as he liked to call them, but anyplace outside of a medical office unless drinks were involved. As always though, if asked he would tell the tale. Shrugging to regain his concentration, Nymes examined the biobed systems, and noticed some interesting readings. "Theres a lot of these scars, Ensign.... The 2O's orders rang in Sammy's head, uncomfortably reasserting the fact that the rating was the ranking man in the engineering department presently. Sammy had organised his team: he had a couple of junior security ratings with him, and a medic. Ops couldn't spare anyone else: the lack of information on WHY the Dennison was dead in space was infuriating, and everyone was working, or confined to quarters in the dark. Sammy, himself, was 3 hours overdue his break; his date with a brunette from astrometrics had gone off the table completely, and that knowledge niggled at him constantly. "Ok, Crewmen. Here's the paln once more: the holodeck systems are tied in an overload loop, and the computer thinks its offline. Now, I could delete the protocols from the computer that govern the holodeck, but that would terminally cripple OPS, Engineering and Medical departments - everything that uses holographic imaging, such as the EMH would be toasted. So thats not a good option, especially as theres no way of knowing what could happen if we simply turn the holodeck off - the emitters could blow out, causing a fire, structural damage... anything really, and we cannot risk the lives of the crew in there. "So heres the idea. Im going to deactivate the peripheral holo-emitters - anything outside this-" he jerked a thumb at the door behind him "-room will be dark to holograms. Then we'll crawl along the jefferies tube to the emergency hatch to try and get access to the holodeck, and get the crew out... but that assumes that the programme will be stable enough to take an entrance and incorporate it into the programme." Sammy turned to the computer panel, and tapped the communications unit - comms were now running at 70%, and the comm line to the bridge was working everywhere. "CPO Ulston to West, Bridge, Sickbay. I am cutting power to peripheral holoemitters, prior to forcing access to the holodeck. Ulston out." (reply any) Tapping two controls, Ulston turned to the two security guards and the medic, and led them to the jefferies tube. (USS Dennison - Holodeck One Emergency Access - EO/CPO Sammy Ulston - 1722) Sammy opened up the diagnostic plate, and ran his holo-scans. It showed the Engineer an inherent instability in the holomatrix - it was developing itself, chaotically adding new subroutines upon subroutines, virally spawning copies of microverses within the programme. Shaking his head, Sammy took the suction pads from the side of the tube, fixed them to the access panel and heaved the two sides apart, crawling a metre into the projection, uncertain of what he would achieve. A blinding light rushed towards him, viewed as if slowmotion, or stop motion. Sammy turned, seeing the reactions of his team in strobe-effect, the light the only sensation he could feel... ... followed by a horrendous wave of high-pitched sound, but still, eerily relaxed.... ...finally a wave of heat rolled over him, torturing the EO, buckling the man in two, his last look behind him showing him the shocked faces of his team as they backed away from the open tube, leaving Sammy where he was, paralysed in pain, engulfed in burning light and sound. All she needed now was a moment to look through the final report from astrometrics that Crewman Sanders had just run up, his exhausted face flushed from both the exertion of climbing up here, and from the excitement of being on board the bridge for the first time in his Starfleet career. “Report from astrometrics sir.” He reported efficiently, handing over the PADD in one smooth, crisp manouver, clearly eager to display effectiveness in the view of all the senior officers on the bridge. “Thank you crewman” Dale replied, her eyes scanning through the almost incomprehensible data that it displayed, incomprehensible to almost all on board but her. “Stick around Sanders I may need you still.” She saw the look of enthusiasm shoot across his face, “but for pete’s sake keep out of the way or you’ll have us both shot; and I’m not exagerating.” "Ensign, have you had enough time to complete the request I made of you earlier?" She turned to the Commander, the question plain to none except her. “I’ve just received final analyses from astrometrics sir, I’m going to need a couple of minutes to collate it. I’m fairly sure of what it’s going to say mind. Perhaps I could report in the ready room in 5 Sir? I’ll need to show you a couple of things, it’ll be easier on the larger display than on a PADD” (Reply West) (Posted by Mark) (USS Dennison –Bridge, Commander Trevan West, - 1715) Trevan could see the look in the Ensign's eyes that he wasn't going to like this at all. “I’ve just received final analyses from astrometrics sir, I’m going to need a couple of minutes to collate it. I want additional time before you show me what you have." Trevan then hit his badge, "West to Engineering, any progress in the problem I gave you regarding the sub-space relay station?" "Good to hear. Keep it up." "Actually Ensign, now would be a good time as any," he gestured for her to lead the way to the ready room, "after you." Trevan waited on the Bridge, impatiently awaiting a reply from Ulston on the status of Holodeck One. In the meantime Trevan turned to face Ensign Bracken, "Ensign, have you had enough time to complete the request I made of you earlier?" he asked hoping not to give away too much in his question to others listening. (reply Bracken) As the reports from Engineering and other departments filed in to the bridge, Trevan was pleasantly surprised at the efficiency of this ship and her crew under extreme time pressure. He had never worked with such a group before. Perhaps this assignment would not be so bad. Just then an alarm sounded on his panel. "Reports of a fire and other damage near Holodeck One. Medical emergency, medical teams to Holodeck One. Damage and casualty report!" he demanded slamming his fist on the chair. (any Bridge reply) "Damn it to hell!" he exclaimed out loud. His medical team of PO Hedges and company had got the 2ndry Sickbay up to speed rapidly, and had been triaging patients as and when they came through the door. Nymes almost barked at the quiet team standing shell-shocked, with uniforms blackened, by the access tube. Seeing their expressions, the trill softened - now was not the time for Trewe-esque personality. Regaining his bedside manner, and casting his brusqueishness aside, he asked again in a softer voice. She turned immediately to the report that astrometrics had sent up to her, gladly, it confirmed the theory that she had been working on. Unfortunately, that had led to one or two disturbing conclusions. "Actually Ensign, now would be a good time as any," he gestured for her to lead the way to the ready room, "after you." Dale nodded, locking the science station as she walked, confidently toward the ready room, for what would be an interesting, if nerve racking briefing for her, and perhaps the Commander as well. (USS Dennison –Captain’s Ready Room, ACSO Ens Dale Bracken, - 1720) Dale strode across the room, the Commander taking a seat behind the desk. She handed him the PADD that contained a copy of all of her findings, findings that she was sure, once the ship was back on an even keel, would find their way into Fleet Intel’s computer, with her name irrovacably attached to it. "What are those dark areas?" “Dark areas are what we would think of normal subspace, graduated colours are increasing levels of detected neutrino-verteron interactions. Really interesting thing is this sir. This is the first scan that we were able to use; time was approximately forty minutes ago .” Forty minutes. That was an eternity when you were crippled. Trevan thought about several things before answering, "What is it exactly? Some sort of cosmic string fragment or micro singularity?" The Ensign replied. “I can’t give you a categorical answer sir, but best guess is that it was this remnant that we hit. I’m afraid that there’s no doubt in my mind sir, I really don’t think that this was of natural cause.” That;s what he was afraid of. "Ensign, sit please." replied the Commander. Trevan activated the desktop viewer, "Computer using the relay antenna on-board the USS Clark, establish a link with Sub-space relay station 47." The computer chirped it's reply then the logo of Fleet Intel appeared for a moment before switching to a much younger looking Captain than he dealt with before. He blinked sleepily, eyes lifting heavily to stare out the window of the cramped shuttle, past the pilots busy with the controls. If it weren't for the still lingering presence of unconciousness, Christopher would be panicking, because a few of the instruments were malfunctioning. Lights blinked and flickered, while the soft whining of an alert pounded at the back of his head. The craft rocked slightly, though the men at the helm managed to keep the ship steady enough to approached the Dennison safely. (Reply none) (USS Dennison, Shuttle Bay, ACEO Ensign Christopher Jacobs, - 1822) The shuttlecraft began to lower itself slowly, turning as it did so. As the ship made contact with the floor of the hangar, Christopher found himself standing quickly, eager to move out and meet his crew. It'd been an eventful week and he'd be lying if he said he wasn't excited to get started. His career was finally about to begin. The door on the side of the craft swung open and Jacobs quickly responded, pushing himself past the passenger seats to the front of the ship, ducking down so that he could exit. He was quite thankful for the open, spacious room offered by the Shuttle Bay, though, before he was stretching his legs, Chris found his gaze darting about, looking expectantly for any sign of a greeting party. (Reply West, Shuttle Bay) (Posted by Nick) (USS Dennison, Shuttle Bay, Commander Trevan West, - 1822) The shuttle landed with a barely detectable thud on the deck. Trevan was surprised to see the shuttlebay since most systems were offline, he was sure that the atmospheric field would collapse at any moment. He was hoping he was wrong. The young Ensign climbed out and met his gaze. "Welcome aboard the Dennison Ensign Jacobs, always glad to meet another engineer. You will forgive me if I don't give you the grand tour, we are in the middle of a bit of a crisis around here. I'll have your belongings put into storage until we assign you quarters. Right now, I am sure Engineering can use you. Come and see the quartermaster when we are out of this mess and we will get you situated." he handed a PADD to Jacobs, "This is a log of things so-far. Should bring you up to speed." he directed his hands towards a younger looking security guard, "This man will get you to Engineering as the most direct route is blocked. Have fun and again, welcome aboard." and with that Trevan turned abruptly and exited out of the bay. He'd opened his mouth to speak, but Commander West interrupted him, handing him a PADD with all the information he need and directing him to a security guard, who would take him to engineering. Frowning slightly, he looked up from the PADD as West began to walk away, and muttered to himself, "Looks like I've got my work cut out for me.Thrall wasn't kidding." (USS Dennison, Engineering, Ensign Christopher Jacobs, - 1830) Christopher surprised himself, in the fact that while reading over the PADD, he still managed to follow after the security guard, only moving down the wrong path once. However, he'd looked up and seen his mistake only seconds after it happened, retracing his steps and jogging off after the young man. The guard pointed Ensign Jacobs towards the door, allowing him to pass. As the passage slid open, Jacobs couldn't help but feel at home. Slowly stepping into the room, he looked about, grinning, arms crossed over his chest. However, after a moment, he'd realized that people were staring at him, with that same vacant look. Blushing, he lowered his eyes to the PADD again, trying to seem busy. ~Spacial distortions.ship wide malfunctions. "Ok, guys, stretcher party. Get this guy to Secondary sickbay, Crewman Watkins, get the first aid winches and harnesses for the turbolift descent. Get this done." Nymes scanned the EO but his diagnosis wasn't as "nice" as the MO. Sammy had suffered severe burns and radiation exposure. His sight was oversaturated, and his sight would have been effected extensively. He was fitting, murmuring something about "Monsters attacking... devouring... killing..." "Get him there now..!" he ordered. He streached and yawned, beginning to think about the day. "Incoming message from the U.S.S. Lexington." Stated the computer. Alahan rubbed his eyes and walked over to his computer interface. He activated the monitor and saw Ensign Hermalinda Fernandez, a friend of his from the Academy. "Ally, you look like you just woke up!" She laughed. Her deep brown eyes were warm and inviting. "Or are you still two minutes early?" He smiled slightly. "How are things on the Lexington?" He scratched his head and sat down in the chair. "Well, it isn't the newest ship in the fleet, but she'll out perform most." Hermalinda smiled. "Getting posted here was great actually. The Chief Engineer is great, very supportive and encouraging. We are always trying new things to get as much as we can out of the Lexington." She stopped for a moment, realizing that she was very excited about her new posting. "What about you Ally?" "It's not home." He said softly. Alahan smiled briefly. "I haven't found my stride yet, but It'll be there. Today is my actual first day of duty so, we will see." Hermalinda's smile faded slowly. "Don't be Alahan, be Ally. It's too early to start pushing people away Ensign. I want you to go out there and flirt, laugh and love." "Thanks Erma, but considering you don't out-rank me, I'll just take it as a suggestion." Fernandez pulled the collar on her uniform showing that she was no longer a junior grade Ensign. "Order. "Don't get too used to it," Madison said. "This is just a spontaneous party the Commander decided to throw to boost some moral of the ship. Have you met him yet?" "I have not." "Ah, well come this way." Making her way back over to Nymes and Banowsky, she said, "This is one of our newest crew members, Ensign Alahan Trew." <> After the introductions subsided, she then asked, "So what made you choose the Dennison ...or were you just thrown here against your will," she asked jokingly, knowing she probably just scared him a little bit. Madison knew her crew knew that she was very strict while on duty...but off the scene was a more personal approach. "I go where I am sent." Alahan hated Valentines Day, and found the need to escape. Only those who the captain and first officer have asked to remain where left. The decorations of the valentines party were gone. It was now hard to tell that just moments ago there were festivities going on. "Ok folks, we are going to have a surprise tactical drill in unarmed combat. Chief Rogers, PO Helmut will you lease collect the weapons and then take them outside." said Thomas as he motioned for two security officers who stayed behind to do their job. "Aye sir," they replied as they went about collecting the weapons. Once they were done they exited the holodeck. "Now then, commander Banowsky is going to lead a group of holographic marines to take over a holodeck version of the ship. It will be up to us to stop them without the use of weapons." Loyola said as he smiled at those assembled. "Computer load program Loyola Gamma Omega 3." Will smiled, he was excited, he would show the crew how to fight. However, he was a little worried when the computer loaded the wrong program. (USS Dennison/Santiago de La Cruz-Holodeck 1/Alley on Calle Cordoba and Palacios-13.45/23.45) Thomas looked at the changed surroundings, this wasn't his program. Instead it was that of an alley of what appeared to be an early 21st century city, where as his program was supposed to be on the Dennison. It was also clearly night and their was poor lighting. "Computer identify program?" Loyola asked but there was no response. "Commander I have no idea what program this is. Something must be wrong." "This is one of mine, I don't know why it loaded...but it did. " Will replied, curious as to what caused the computer to load the wrong program. "Computer end program." Loyola commanded but no response. Thomas was beginning to get a little worried as their was no response from the computer. His only hope that the safety protocols would be on. However he would be wrong. Hopes that would soon be dashed, as an enemy creeped up behind Loyola and dug its fangs into him. In a matter of seconds, it drained Loyola dry. "Vampire!" Will shouted as he rushed the creature and tackled it to the ground. (Reply All in Sim) (posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Dennison-Holodeck 1-Elenor Night-13.46 [23:36]) Ele watched the walls of the hologrid swirl around, and be replaced by a dark, alleyway type environment, similar to the rat-runs in the town she had grown up in, but the dissimilarities were vast - there was no visible technology at all. ~must be a past simulation~ The FO was surprised, as was the Lieutenant; and alarm bells started ringing when the computer didnt respond. Loyola sagged as a humanoid creature digged his fangs into the jugular vein, and sucked. Loyola turned white, his eyes screaming his agony. "Vampire!" The FO shouted, as he took the lead and tackled the... thing to the ground. "A what, sir?" Ele asked, adrenaline rushing through her blood in the heat of the confrontation. Ele glanced up at the alley. There seemed to be a building signposted at the open end of the street, the wooden, swinging sign read "The Steak And Chef", and showed a chef preparing a meal. No lights were showing, but now wasn't the time, with the FO in hand to hand combat with the holographic thing. He jumped out of the roll and back to his feet, trying to determine where the creature was. Alahan couldn't see the creature at this point, so he rushed over to Divay. "You okay?" There was no time for Alahan to hear the answer. He was picked up by the creature, slammed into the brick wall, and the threw through a plate glass window across the street. She wanted to test their skills of combat in a scenario where they wouldn't necessarily have the ability to fire a phaser. "Now then, Commander Banowsky is going to lead a group of holographic marines to take over a holodeck version of the ship. It will be up to us to stop them without the use of weapons." Loyola said as he smiled at those assembled. "Computer load program Loyola Gamma Omega 3." Watching as the Valentines party shimmered away, Madison was suprised when she saw something unexpected appear. Instead of a tactical scenario on the bridge, it was all of them standing in a dark and sullen alley at night time. "Loyola?" Davis questioned, wanting to know what was going on. "Computer identify program?" Loyola asked but there was no response. "Commander I have no idea what program this is. Something must be wrong." "This is one of mine, I don't know why it loaded...but it did. " Will replied. "Computer end program." Loyola commanded but no response. Then Davis decided maybe she'd give it a try with her command authorization. "Computer, end program, authorization 141 delta." Once more, nothing happened. About to give out another order, it was too late when she realized something dark and big swooping in towards Loyola. "Vampire!" Will shouted as he rushed the creature and tackled it to the ground. "Vampire?" Davis questioned, partially at the wondering of Banowsky's off duty program and the partly about what was going on. But she wasn't too concerned since it was only a holodeck program. At least she knew the crew would be safe...or would they? "Ouch! Well, safety protocols are off," she heard Ensign Divay announce. It was then he decided to try and tackle the creature off of Loyola, but it was too late. The creature was done with Loyola and now turned it's attack onto Divay. "A little help!" He shouted, and Davis watched as Ensign Trew helped Divay fight the creature off. It didn't take too long as the creature was outnumbered...or so Davis thought. A holographic car turned down a street with it's headlights on, shining into the alley for a few seconds before the brightness was gone. It was in that instant, that the vampire disappeared. "Wha-where did it go?" Davis asked. <> "Alright, I want everyone over here now." She waited until they formed a circle so she could clearly give out her instructions to them. "Ok...it's obvious that the safety protocols are..offline." Looking towards Loyola, it was too late as the blood from his body had been sucked out. He now had a white/grey look to his palor. Hitting her commbadge, she said, "Davis to bridge." Silence. "Davis to Commander West." Silence again. "Davis to anyone who will hear me!" Silence once more. "Computer exit," she tried. Nick followed the FO with his eyes and cringed when he saw the mans un-clean attack at the creature. He thought he heard the CO question what a Vampire was but couldn't have been sure. Suddenly Nick heard Divay shout out about the safety protocols being turned off and then noticed him rush at a Vampire which was devouring Loyola, Suddenly there was some headlights coming down the street and the Vampire disappeared, just to re-appear behind Semme. Ash looked towards Trew and then towards the metal pipe he had in his hand "We need better weapons"He said Alahan continued to look at the signs for the merchants on the street. "ok Look around there use to be weapon stores on almost every street corner in those days"Ash told Trew Trew found a sign that looked hopeful. "Down the street is a store called 'Taggarts Targets'. Hopefully that will produce some weapons that we can use." He began walking cautiously in the direction of the weapons shop. ~ Projectile weapons are inaccurate compared to phasers. I will have to compensate for the inaccuracy. ~ Thought Alahan as he walked. "Okay, so when did Humans purge themselves of these Vampires?" Asked Alahan as they walked. Will said, slaying many a holographic vampire with them. "Uh huh. Well if we do see another one of those vampire creatures, I for one hope 'normal' weapons will do the trick. I wouldn't want to get up close and personal with one of those things." "Well, you can cut off their heads, or an arrow through the heart may do the trick. Just hope we don't come across a werewolf or any other creatures I've programmed into the game. Either way, I've got weapons to kill all off them. I hope you are ready to battle." Will said, he used to be proud of the things he thought up, but he was now distressed, his creations may kill him. "But...we're Starfleet. Madison dropped her head in Banowsky's direction, her facial features revealing her awe in disbelief. "Remind me never to come in a holodeck with you again," she said, jokingly. "Now...let's get out of here. We need to get going and contact the other members of the away team soon." "But it should all be good, because most of the vampires in this town have been hunted and killed, though there are 20 new ones every night. We'll just have to do that until someone can get us out from the outside." "Well it al depends on stopping the apocalypse.." Shrugging her shoulders, she said, "Lets go." Stepping out of the hiding cave, it still looked dark. They were going to be in here for awhile and Madison knew it. The trick was going to be staying alive at this point until someone could pull them out of here. ~Some tactical scenario.~ All emotions from anger to sadness flowed through her as she tried to keep her concentration on the 'now.' As they walked together, armed as all get out, Madison heard a 'break' of what sounded to be someone stepping on leaves or sticks. "Shh...you hear that?" She whispered. <> Motioning to her left, they took up their positions beside each other, ready to jump out in front of the intruder and defend themselves. As Madison moved closer, she heard it again, but stayed silent. Holding up her fingers, she layed a finger down starting at the number 3. Once they reached zero, both her and Banowsky jumped out in front of the area where the suspected intruder was. "Don't move!" Madison shouted. It was almost laughable trying to use Starfleet tactics in a simulation like this, but they couldn't break from it just because of circumstance. "What are your names?" She demanded at the two people who had their backs turned to her. <> Sighing, she said, "It's only you two. Sorry about that. Have you seen Semme or Night?" (Reply: Banowsky, Divay, Trew, any) (Posted by: Stacey) (USS Dennison - Holodeck 1- ACONN Ens. sg Elenor Night- 1459) "Great" Semme said, walking towards her."Where?" "But its fried. Looks like the wiring has disappeared." The panel's display was cracked, broken when one of the security guys had been thrown in the fight. But the display was static, intermingled with nonsense. Looking at the wiring, half of it looked frozen, and the rest looked displaced... shifted out of the plane by a centimetre or two." Eleanor's words drifted off. Nick took a look at the panel and was astonished. "You're right, Ele. This part seems to have frozen over - as if the Simulation was affecting it somehow. But that wouldn't be possible. Its like we've suddenly been jolted into a Holodeck simulation which isn't a simulation anymore." Semme said confused. "Some sort of displacement, could it have something to do with the jolt this morning?" He said quickly. "Best hypothesis yet, Nick. But that jolt felt like throttle loss - you know, when the ship is straining against resistance to move, like water through a blocked tube... Maybe the Dennison is stuck on a space-sandbar, but I haven't a clue what would be causing it," "WEll if it does, then I would say the reason we haven't been found yet is because even if any crew do manage to get in they would get sucked into the 'vortex' that we seem to be in. Until the ship finds a way out of the anomaly I believe there is nothing to do except run the holodeck simulation through. Maybe we should contact the FO and find out where and what the ending is to the simulation. Once the simulation ends - there is a possibility that our entrapment will end also. OR at least but us in the HOLODECK with 25th Century computers to work with." Nick said, quite impressed with himself. "I hope so, but whats to say the holomatrix wouldn't overload when the simulation ends? If the jolt damaged the engines then theres going to be some problems in engineering." (reply Semme) "Well, you know Chief Ulston, Nick; he'll be on top of things if there isn't a skirt involved." (reply Semme) Ele listened, when a noise in the alley made her turn, and an empty green glass bottle rolled towards her, and dragging her eyes away from it she saw the legs of the creatures first, followed by the knees, body, and finally the head... a hairy monstrosity, but it wasn't alone: several of the deadly creatures that had ended Loyola's life were behind it, and Ele backed away, unable to avert her gaze, or talk to the ACEO. "...." was all she could say as she scrabbled backwards, her back hitting the dead end of the alleyway, her shoulders trying to dig herself into the brickwork. Semme said, "You're right, although engineering is equipped for emergencies like this." He said to her reassuringly. "Well, you know Chief Ulston, Nick; he'll be on top of things if there isn't a skirt involved." Night said. Nick raised an eyebrow "A skirt?" He said amusingly. Semme watched as Ele span around, he noticed what she saw as she stumbled backwards. She was paralysed with Fear, or so Nick thought. In lead their was a huge monster, And then behind it was several of the monsters which had killed Loyola. Nick stamped forward and grabbed one of the metal bars which was hanging off the side of the building, it had a sharpened end on it. He pulled it towards the creature and plunged it into its chest. The creature fell, Nick pulled the spear out of it and swirled it around hitting several of the other creatures around the head. One came up behind him and grabbed him on his back. He quickly swung it over his back and then stamped on its face. He walked back to Ele. "Don't worry, Your with a Half Vulcan Half Human. We're the best fighters" He said smiling. He had the Vulcan logic and strength and the human aggression in fights, he was Un-beatable. Especially for the slow moving creatures that they seemed to be so far. Ele still couldn't believe her eyes. ~this sim is ridiculous...~ A larger crowd of holo's had amassed in the alley, with an even huger monstrosity than the one Semme had impaled, with scars on its.... carapace... was the only word for it. Ele's white face looked at the half vulcan. "Even half vulcans know when its logical to run, right?" she said, finally breaking through her terror to get her legs moving. "Towards the trees, Nick." she shrieked, as the pair moved out of the alley, a wary eye kept on the hundreds of holo's in the village square. So far, they hadn't noticed the two - two of the holos were scrapping between themselves in the centre of the mass. Ele's foot slipped on the cobblestones in the square, leaving the ACONN crashing to the floor, grazing her knees. An unweolcomed squeak issued from her lips, and the nearest holos turned and saw the young human in her black dress and fur coat. Ele's fear turned real as the holograms started to rush towards her... (Reply Nick Semme) (Posted by GC) (USS Dennison - Holodeck 1 - A'CEO, Lt(jg) Nicholas Semme - 1505) As Nick stood there his Vulcan ears heard something behind him, something Ele had obviously seen by the look of her face. He turned slowly to see millions of the smaller creatures amassing around the dead sim bodies. And then one HUGE monstrosity of a beast, looking the same as the one Nick had killed but much larger appeared. It went straight to the smaller beast sniffed it and then roared, ~Oh o~ Nick thought. "Even half Vulcan's know when its logical to run, right?" Ele said looking extremely scared. She burst out into a run shrieking, "Towards the trees, Nick." Semme looked back at the beast before deciding to follow the Ensign. A few minutes of running later he saw the ACONN Officer fall, he kept pace with her rather easily and stopped when she fell. Unfortunately what seemed to be the mother of the beast Nick had killed heard Ele sweak as she fell. It began roaring and running at them rather hastily with all the smaller beasts in toe. Nick looked from the beast to Ele, and then back at the beast. He made a quick decision and bent low and picked Eleanor Night up and carried her in his arms running as fast as he could towards the bank trees he could see. "Hold on tight, Ele" He shouted as he kept running. He hoped she didn't think him rude just picking her up but another second later and the beast would have been on them. He stopped once well into the wood. He could no longer see any of the beasts but was sure they wouldn't give up just like that. He let Night down and said, "I believe we may have angered the beast." He said looking around the trees. "Any idea on which way to go?" He asked as he looked around in several different directions. (Reply Ele Night) (Posted by Jono (USS Dennison - Holodeck 1 - ACONN, Ens. Ele Night - 1525) "Hold on tight, Ele" ... blackout ... Her ankle was twisted, badly, and didn't seem to be able to bear her weight. ~what the hell happened?~ "N..ick... What just happened..?" she said, struggling to get the words out over the nausea she was feeling. "I believe we may have angered the beast." He said looking around the trees. "Any idea on which way to go?" He asked as he looked around in several different directions. Ele thought about her ankle, but she'd be damned if she let a holographic induced injury stop her. "Up into the hills... The captain and the FO both went up there." she pointed, groggily towards a rocky outcrop, visible to the pair in the clearing they were in. It must have been 2000 yards away, and maybe 300 in elevation... A growling noise at their six o clock awakened Ele's senses, and drummed in the adrenaline once more. Ele and the A'CEO were in a clearing of the forest, a space about 3 metres in radius, criss-crossed with tree roots,, and a central tree stump standing out from the brown dirt. Ele walked around the stump, ignoring the pain in her leg as she did so - she'd pay for the pain later, but she needed to be mobile. "How far away do'you reckon, Nick?" (reply Semme) Ele continued to walk clockwise around the stump, when the ground gave way beneath her, sending her rushing feet first into a dark chute. ~where the hell?~ The chute was lined with a grey building material, smoothed over in wavy patterns that Ele had never seen before, and had an exit door (she supposed) set in the pit wall in metal. With no other option, she tried to prise the door open with her hands, it gave an inch or so, but fell back. The brief glimpse had astounded her. ~A safehouse? or something more sinister...~ The room beyond was large, cavernous, and lit by torchlight. The far side was sealed with iron bars, which kept monsters similar to the monstrosity she had seen above ground. A couple of holographic humans in suits and white jackets were documenting them on clipboards. She was gone, but where? Eleanor Night had just disappeared he quickly walked over to where she was last and then stood there scratching his head. CO asked stopping behind Divay and Trew "Don't know Ma'am ,But i am going to find out .Cover me !"Divay said Ash started to move slowly towards the dark alley. There were some garbage cans and a dumpster . Everything looked green trough his NV goggles. ~Its green but at least i can see in the dark~ Ash thought as he turned he saw the cover of on of the garbage dumpster shake. He slowly approached it and his left hand moved forward to open it, suddenly the cover popped open and something grabbed Ash's left hand . "Agggg Help !"Ash screamed, something pulled Ash head first in the dumpster. All Ash could see a pair of teeth trying to get close to his neck .He jabbed his left hand in that mouth hoping to keep it away from his neck and face. While at the same time desperately trying to unholster his Pistol as he had dropped the rifle. (reply Davis, Banowsky , Trew) He finally managed to remove his pistol from his shoulder holster. He pulled the trigger several times until his 9mm was out of ammo but the beast didn't move. The beast decided to bite hard on Divay's left Hand, Divay noticed the sparks flying off his biomechanical hand. "Good ! Eat metal you ugly "Ash screamed and trusted his hand harder in the mouth of the beast. Ash could hear gun shots and screams out side, it seemed CO and others were under attack also. ~I got to get out of this ~Ash thought as he wanted to get out and help others. He desperately needed a way out as others may not be able to come sooner. He felt around the floor of the dumpster, finally he felt his luck had returned in form of a Grenade which had rolled out of his pocket. Removing the pin he pushed the grenade down the creatures throat, amazingly the creature realized what had happened and in an attempt to remove the grenade it pushed Ash out of dumpster. Just a second later the grenade exploded blowing the creature into bits. Divay was left unconscious by the blast and buried under debris. (Ft.Bragg-Federation Marine Corps Medical Center- Cpl.Ash Divay- Flashback) "How are you doing Cpl.Divay?" Came the voice of Commander Edward Falkirk Ash could not speak, all he saw was Commander's face. A tall man with blonde hair and green eyes. "Now don't try to speak, you have lost a lot of blood." Falkirk said placing a hypo spray on Divay's neck Next thing Ash knows is that he's waking up in a strange device with a large semi-spherical shaped object fixed on his head . "Commander Falkirk! He's regained consciousness Sir!" Said a female Vulcan assistant. "Well dammit sedate him,Memory blocking is a compilcated process,We dont want any sideeffects" Commander Edward Falkirk said to the Assistant who walked over and pressed a button (USS Dennison-Holodeck 1-Ensign Ash Divay-14:40) "No!!" Ash woke up screaming, but he could not move he was still under debris from the dumpster. He managed to push this aside .As he got up on his feet he noticed the place was quite. Looking around he saw what was once a creature ,There was blood and body parts all over the area. Then Ash noticed there was no one else around ~Captain and others must have seen this mess and thought i was killed.~ He realized Looking around for his rifle Ash noticed a light in the area where the dumpster had been. ~What's this ~He thought as he got down on his knees he saw the familiar surface of Starfleet vessel and destroyed wirings sticking out of the floor. ~If that explosion destroyed those wirings then the damage must have been registered on the ships computer and the bridge must have been alerted. ~He thought Ash looked around and he found his rifle. He took it and decided to go look for Captain Davis and others. ~boy are they going to be surprised to see me alive.~ He thought as he ran trough the dark deserted streets . Davis asked as Trew and Divay stopped abruptly before her. "Don't know Ma'am ,But i am going to find out .Cover me !"Divay said. "Ensign!" Davis called out, but it was too late and Divay was already gone to investigate. She couldn't fault him for investigating, she would have done the same. However she did wish that he would have waited a second longer so they could back each other up instead of running off by himself. "Let's move!" She yelled to the others, going to follow Divay to back him up in case he ran in to trouble...but that soon seemed pointless as two huge creatures suddenly jumped out in front of the three trying to reach Divay. Stopping suddenly, none of the three moved, just stood still for a moment. Davis was trying to catch her breath from running, and all the while she slowly looked towards Banowsky with her eyes and said, "Will?" <> Right in the middle of his reply, both creatures came after them full force. One of them looked to be a warewolf and the other...well, she couldn't make out the other. But her eyes were wide with anticipation as the warewolf came upon her, knocking her to the ground before she could grab for her weapon. He quickly went to sink his teeth into her, but she moved her head to the side, making him miss his target and eat dirt. "Get....off me!" She shouted, and her wish was soon carried out as she saw someone hurdle over the beast, knocking him to the ground next to her. "Will!" She shouted as she watched them wrestle for a bit while she looked for her gun. ~Screw it,~ she thought, then remembered she had a gun in an ankle holster. Pointing it at the warewolf, she went to fire her gun but was too late. The wearwolf had already seen her pull it out and tackled her once more, leaving Banowsky on the ground with nothing to wrestle. Once they hit the ground, gun in hand, she made sure not to drop it this time and pointed it right at the beasts heart and blasted off the trigger. Blood went flying everywhere and the creature landed atop her. "Ugh..." she said disgustingly. From the corner of her eye she could see that whatever it was that attacked Trew was already down. ~Banowsky must have helped him once he heard the shot go off from my gun,~ she surmised. As she tried to push the dead creature off her, she said, "A little help here..." <> The creature having been shoved off, she brushed herself off to the best of her ability, and ended up taking the long sleeved tunic off. It was blood soaked and was only serving to make her more cold than she already was, though not at the moment. "Alright, lets make sure Divay's alright so we can..." But her words were cut short when they all heard a 'boom'. "Divay!" She called, going over to where the remnants lay from the explosion. The only thing she could see were pieces from his uniform that lay torn and scattered in the debris. "He has to be here! Help me look for him!" She shouted to the other two men. Ele Night- 1541) Ele stood with her back against the door, breathing fast as she tried to think what to do next. This shaft she was in was probably a ventilation duct of some description - it had limited purpose otherwise: it was just a steep diagonal hole in the ground with a door at the bottom. She looked up, and saw a square grill about 5 feet above the door, and knew what she had to do. Somehow, she'd have to manuveur herself up there, walking up the walls with her feet and hands, a party trick now very useful. A rushing sound above her caused her to double check. If one of the monsters became entrapped with her... well, it didn't bear thinking about. The sound got louder as the fully humanoid figure of Nick Semme crashed to the floor by her feet. "Ele?" He said. "Yes Nick, but be quiet." she said, a finger to her lips to quiet him. "Here's my hypothesis on this location: it seems to be a ventilation duct for this underground complex - that heavy duty metal door is unbreakable, but you can just about make out whats going on through the gaps at the side: it seems to be a facility making the monsters; or studying them scientifically. "Lets get moving....where did you guys come from?" Davis asked, hoping maybe they knew a quicker way back to where they had left Semme and Night. "Just off of the main street." Replied Alahan, speaking softly but clearly. "Ok, you guys lead the way. The Commander and I will take back. You should also know there aren't just vampires in here...so anything you see I would consider hostile." "I Agree Captain there is something down there. It was stalking us but did not attack us; it felt like it was trying to judge our strength" Divay informed the Captain "Ok, lets head out. Lead the way." Davis said to Trew and Divay, hoping they would soon run into Semme and Night. They walked for what seemed like forever but was closer to about 30 minutes. "Davis to Semme, respond." Nothing. "Davis to Night, are you there?" Still nothing. Will was worried for his fellow crewmates, feeling that this was partly his fault. It was his program, designed to test him to the limits, but it was designed for the safety protocols to be on, not off, and Loyola was dead because of it, because of his imagination. "We need to find them before the temperature drops any further. At this point I'm not sure if the holodeck controls are failing or if it's part of the programming. Something tells me the latter," Davis said, looking towards Banowsky. "No it shouldn't be the programming, we should be in a Mediterranean climate in the summer time, it should be slightly warm with a breeze, it shouldn't be this cold." said Will, regretting the fact that he took of the jacket part of his uniform and was wearing only his pants and a tank top. One of them looked to be a werewolf and the other...well it was equally as frightening, only larger. "Get....off me!" She shouted, Will acted instinctively as he dropped his crossbow and tackled the beast off of Davis. "Will!" Davis shouted as she pulled a gun out. The werewolf left Will and attacked Davis. Will struggled to his feet and quickly readied the M-16 he had hanging from his shoulder. However Davis had already killed the werewolf with the gun she had in hand. Will then quickly turned and saw the other creature head towards Trew, Will aimed for the heart and fired a short round of bursts hitting the creature in its heart killing it. "Er, I have a question; this facility deals with the mutations of the human genome at accellerated rates?" "Well, mundanely, yes. We look at iatro-mutageneration." "if the treatment isn't 100% tailored to the DNA sequences, or mutates itself... then it can alter the patient's chromosome, turning it to a lower level, a basal, ferocious level. The patient's regress mentally into a feral state, and act very much like a rabid dog...and can infect other people, who WILL regress as the DNA template is 99.999% unlikely to match there "normal" DNA." Ele stopped in the crawlspace at these words. The lab-rats had meant well but had managed to cause a horrendous... well, Genocide may have been appropriate. They had to be stopped, or even better, helped in making an antidote. Ele's mind flashed back into the Dennison, and wondered if Dee could've helped them out. Making up her mind, Ele crawled on, looking for a secluded grating to climb out of the vent, finding one in a dusty old storeroom, which thankfully was unlocked. Ditching her fur coat, Ele tidied herself up as best as possible, removing as much of the blood and mud on her face at the wash-basin, and took a Labcoat from a hanger, and stepped through into the Facility. There were constant sounds of dogs and other creature in the background. All the doors and windows were shut tight. There was not a single human being on the street but Ash. ~Commander's got one hell of a dark side~ He thought as he made his way through the streets. He had absolutely no idea where others were, but he had decided to keep moving until he finds Captain or anyone else from the Away team. As he walked he realized that he is at the same place where he and Trew had acquired Fire Arms from the local store. He also noticed that the stores doors were still open and that there was no police around. Realizing this could be a good opportunity to acquire better and more powerful weapon he ran into the store. Inside he noticed what looked like a communication device of sort. ~What the hell ~Ash thought as he picked up the device "Ensign Divay to anyone !Can anyone hear me "Ash transmitted using the device but there was no response from anyone. ~I wonder if holographic comm. Devices can transmit real radio waves. ~ Ash thought He switched the device to auto SOS transmitting mode and placed it in his pocket hoping someone might respond or at least pick of the strange radio waves emitting from Holodeck 1. (Anyone in ship iyw) Then finally he noticed what he should have taken before, it was what he had been searching for .It was the most advanced Fire Arm made in that era. It was OICW-2 ( Objective Individual Combat Weapon) or HK XM-29B . Ash had remembered reading about this firearm and how it was considered the most advance hand held weapon of that time. He picked up the weapon and pressed the power on button. "Checking System Status Now! All Systems green" The audio system on the weapon reported. "This is great ,Wonder if it can tell me of approaching threats "Ash said as he looked through the Smart Thermal Imaging Sight (STIS) of the weapon. There was a red box indicating a hidden warm blooded creature just outside the Store. "Dam that thing is going to ambush me ,how do I take it out?" Ash asked himself He noticed the weapon came with its set of helmet and visor which he placed over his head. Then he realized he can stick the weapon out of the door and engage the threat. The creature stood was standing outside ready to attack Ensign when he come out. Instead a Rifle came out and a thin red laser shot from the weapon struck the creatures forehead. Within a second the computer calculated and loaded the appropriate round . "AP Round Up .Shoot Now !"The system reported Ash pressed the trigger the weapons suppressors suppressed the sound completely, the creature a werewolf had no time to react its brain matter was spread all over the street. (Reply Any,None) (posted Ash Divay) (USS Dennison - Holodeck 1 - FACILITY, Level 1 - ACONN, Ens(sg) Elenor Night - 1621) Ele walked out of the door, the white coat flowing behind her; she looked around, tying her hair into a loose knot, to look as "sciencey" as possible. It was quirky, but Ele had tried to model herself on Dee for this, knowing that only looking like a hologram would get her the keys she needed to get Nick out of that vent. Unsure of where she was going, she continued down the brightly lit corridor to a set of doors; she wasn't prepared for the site she saw: The doors lead onto a metal gantry, which was a suspended walkway over a pen, or a cage with human subjects, wooden floor, white walls, a sort of bachelor pad for the human victims of this facility, which was walled off, but the gantry continued over the wall to a second room, and a third. The middle of the rooms looked like an old operating theatre, men and women in white masks and gowns injecting these patients with syringe after syringe of liquid, poking, prodding, writing notes and hiding their faces behind there clipboards. Though she hesitated, Ele continued to walk along the gantry, knowing what the last room was... A dark blue walled cell - room - with numerous beds, and many recuperating patients. Two men with body armour and guns were standing by the doors, and the nurses were all resigned to thier jobs, working with quiet efficiency. A silent scream went up from one of the patients, and he started fitting; moving uncontrollably, flailing his arms and legs, his eyes wide open as he struggled with his very fibre of his being, and then nothing. His eyes closed slowly, and he uncomfortably struggled to move his arms, blindly looking at them as if they were completely separate from his body, his back started to squirm as though something was trying to break through his bones, and take his viscera with him. Finally the nurse and guards started to move, advancing on the man with yet another syringe, but the... thing didn't even open his eyes, but Ele knew he didn't need to: the monster knew precisely what he needed to do, and do it he did: the patient's nails slashed the nurses face, and a bloodcurdling scream filled the complex, cut off abruptly as the fallen nurse crawled away, desparate for a cure, for an antidote, for an easier way out, for the pain to end. The first guard tried to restrain the patient, but was felled by a punch to the throat, his windpipe smashed, the hologram asphixiating as he hit the ground. The second fumbled with his holstered gun, backing away towards the doors, still unable to free the weapon as the monster advanced on him. The gun clattered to the floor, discharging a round randomly into the room, richocheting into the leg of the patient, not even recognised by the changed man. Weaponless, hopeless, terrified, the second guard was killed by the monster. Ele turned away, but even though it was holographic, couldn't rid her mind of the image she had just seen. Ele jumped out of her skin as something-someone tapped her on the shoulder. "Doctor Anthenia, I presume?" Regrouping mentally, she turned around. "Yes, its Elle Anthenia." "Whoa, Doctor, you need a security pass here, let me get you sorted out." The man was young, dressed like most of the men here in scrub overalls, with a lab coat over it. Unlike most, he carried a pistol. "Just in case" as he put it. "Its Jim. Donald Jim" he said, replying to her unasked question. "I'm the lead on the pathology team - lets get you sorted." he opened the door to a room marked "Security, Level 2", which turned out to be a longer corridor, and a lift ride brought the pair to a security desk, and a few minutes later Ele and Jim left the level, "Elle" now having a ID badge with access to the lab. "Your lab is down to the shop floor - level 6 - and its lab 6a-1, thats the pre-op centre. Good luck!" Don/Jim left the bemused Ele in the corridor. (USS Dennison - Holodeck 1 - FACILITY level 6 - ACONN Ele Night - 1700) Walking down to the lab was relatively straight-forward, but finding her way back to the security doors behind which Semme was hiding was a bit harder. Ele's card didn't open that door - it needed a physical key: but the door was the "Repair access Ventilation Delta - 1" - and a quick search revealed an easy way of getting the door open. Weighing up the risks, Ele thought it better that the half Vulcan was inside the facility, even if he was arrested or interned, than eaten alive by 500 of the monsters. Just one bite would have been enough. Tapping a hologram on the shoulder, Ele told him that a repair needed doing on the ventilation ducts - as the malfunction was causing "just havoc on my experiments!" Surprisingly, the man bought it, and set the process in motion. Ele sat at the proffered desk and saw the repair team go to the door and open the locks, and the door swinging back. Will was regretting that he left his tunic behind, and had goosebumps all over his arms. He still had his sword at his side, with the glock in his shoulder holster, the M-16 over his shoulder and he held the cross bow in his arm. They were crossing through tall grass and weeds, which surprised Will, because in his program this was where the city's bus depot was supposed to be, as they passed through the weeds they came to a town with people going through their lives. Definetly not from Will's program as these people looked to be from the 18th centuryrather then the early 21st. "Question...This program is starting to look a bit odd. Could it be possible that it isn't just your program, but a variety of programs that are asserting themselves?" "This is definetly not my program anymore, I don't recognize this area at all. In fact those weed are where a bus depot was supposed to be." Will said, confused and eager to get out. He much rather deal with saboteurs and assasins, then getting killed by a hologram. ~I'm sorry Thomas, Ash, I'm sorry. "I don't know about you, but that building over there looks mighty significant. Unfortunatly we can't just go walking in there with these weapons." "Ya, we'll have to hide them somewhere. Ensign, do you still have that dufflebag I gave you." (reply Trew) "Good, we'll stash the weapons in there and then find a place to hide them." (Reply Trew, Davis) "I'm thinking these are split in different eras. This era looks to be something like the past in some form. You might be able to tell me better. After all, you are from my past," she said, giving the two men wondering looks. "Well this new area is circa 1700 or something of that sort, I dunno maybe a program of that sort that someone else might have or something. But I don't know anything of that sort. Hopefully nothing to bad. Though I recommend getting into more appropriate clothing. The thing is, during this era, especially in what became the United States and in Europe they were very fond of persecutating and killing those that appeard different as witches. Well puritans were anyways. So we might want to try and fit in." "Aha...I see. So you're suggesting we try to fit in with the locals? Like, dress up?" "Pretty much, we need to find some clothes, put them on and act normal, then acquire period specific weaponry and keep on going to stay alive and find Semme and Night" Will said, he was eager to putting on something warmer. "I'm open to suggestions..." "Well, we find an empty house, rob it and put on the clothes, cause we don’t have anything to buy clothing with, like I dunno, that farm house over there." (reply Davis, Trew) (posted by Will Banowsky) (USS Dennison-Holodeck 1-CO Madison Davis-16:27) "Well, we find an empty house, rob it and put on the clothes, cause we don’t have anything to buy clothing with, like I dunno, that farm house over there." Looking over at what seemed to be the empty house to their left, she frowned. Madison didn't like the idea of stealing too much, but then again who cared...they were only in a holodeck simulation. "Alright...we'll do it." Right after Madison made the statement, she watched as a few puritans walked by them, unsuspecting that they were hiding in the brush. "You know...normally I wouldn't complain so much but...do I really have to dress like that?" She asked, looking at Banowsky. He was after all a better history major than she was by far...especially since this was an extra era behind her that she didn't know as much about. <> Mentally rolling her eyes, she inhaled and let out a silent slow breath, waiting for most of the people to clear out before they made their venture into the empty house. Handing her weapons off to Trew to put in the duffel bag, she asked, "Who knows more about this part of history?" <> "Good. The both of you can fill me in while I'm busy stealing clothes." <> Madison then added, "Just remember this is a holodeck simulation. We need to treat this as such, with the exception that since safety protocols are off to actually try to interact and 'be' one of these people from this time period." Then the moment arrived...most of the towns people had started to clear out going about their jobs and moving farther away from the empty house. Tapping on Banowsky's arm, she whispered," Let's go." Quickly searching for a place to run to conceal themselves, she headed for the first big tree next to the empty house. Running towards the tree with the other two in tow, she carefully watched for any signs that they may have been caught or followed. Not seeing any, she quickened her pace to make it to the tree, taking a stop to once again look around and surveille the area. "Clear?" She asked Trew, a little out of breath. <> "Come on!" She shouted in a whisper, once again making headway towards the empty house. This time however, they finally did reach the house. Plastering her back flat against the side of the house, she carefully peeked around the corner. She could see people off in the distance, but they were too far away to make it back in time even if they had been caught. "Hurry, let's move." <> Walking into the house, they moved very slowly at first making sure no one was home. Once satisfied, Madison made her way to one of the bedrooms. On the way to the main bedroom, she discovered that there were several beds often in one room. "They must have a lot of children," she surmised to herself aloud. <> Finally reaching the main bedroom, Madison opened the closet door and pulled out what looked like a giant black robe with stockings and a white apron. Her eyebrows shot up and she looked at the other two who seemed to think it amusing. ~This had better be worth it!~ "I'll be...next door," she said, leaving the two men to change in the main bedroom. As she went into the next room over, she quickly shed off her uniform, careful not to leave any shred of evidence behind. ~The last thing we need is for them to come looking for us too.~ As she started to put on the main piece of clothing...~a dress?~...Madison realized she hated these things more than anything else she had ever worn to date. ~How will I run in this thing?~ Trying to hurry though, she stifled her thoughts to keep herself from lagging behind. She then quickly finished getting dressed except for her apron and went over to the main bedroom and tapped on the door. "Gentlemen you dressed?" She asked. Though this wasn't necessarily the time for being shy in front of each other, she knew they would need the time anyways to clean up their cuts as much as possible. <> Walking in, she didn't expect to see the image before her, and had to hold back from laughing. She could obviously see they were attempting to do the same. "Trew, get out whatever medical supplies we have. We have a small break now I suggest we clean these cuts." <> Madison then watching as he got out everything they had. "That's it?" She asked, watching as Trew nodded his head. "Damn...oh well, it'll have to do." It was only a few minutes before they were mostly done cleaning their cuts and wounds and ready to go back out into the fighting world of the holodck. As they got up to leave, Madison said, "Make sure you leave nothing behind. We don't need them to be suspicious either. Oh and....will one of you?" She asked, pointing to the apron that needed tied behind her back. <> "Thanks...now lets get moving." "You know...normally I wouldn't complain so much but...do I really have to dress like that?" She asked, looking at Banowsky. "Sorry, but it's either dress like that or get burned at the stake, though considering the arsenal we have.." Will paused as he thought about the 6 grenades he had in the dufflebag concealed safely in a secure briefcase "We could kill them all, but that wouldn't be our way. So you're just going have to suck it up." "Who knows more about this part of history?" "I um, studied this in school a bit, but other than that, I really am not that familiar with it, other than the whole witch trials, and all that jazz." Will said, he loved history, but he generally was selective with what time periods, had this been the middle ages or the 20th and 21st century he would be more knowledgeable but he didn't really focus on this time period much. How bout you Alahan?" Will decided to drop the whole rank thing, it wasn't the time for it. It was time to stay alive and bust out of the holodeck. (Reply Trew) "Good. The both of you can fill me in while I'm busy stealing clothes." "Will do Madison, but first we need to steal the damn things, and pray we find our sizes." Then the moment arrived...most of the towns people had started to clear out going about their jobs and moving farther away from the empty house. Davis tapped on Will's arm and whispered," Let's go." Quickly searching for a place to run to conceal themselves, they headed for the first big tree next to the empty house. Will followed Davis to the tree and waited for a moment to run. "Clear?" She asked Trew, a little out of breath. <> "Come on!" She shouted in a whisper, as they began to race to the house. Will was happy that he had been keeping in shape, otherwise he would be in trouble right about now, big trouble. "Hurry, let's move." "Alright, though a breather might no kill us." Will said sarcastically, knowing how essential that time and timing was to them. Walking into the house, they moved very slowly at first making sure no one was home. Will followed as Madison made her way to one of the bedrooms. On the way to the main bedroom, they soon discovered that there were several beds often in one room. "They must have a lot of children," she surmised to herself aloud. "It was typical of the time, more kids meant more free labor to have on the farm." Will said proud that he knew that fact. Finally reaching the main bedroom, Madison opened the closet door and pulled out what looked like a giant black robe with stockings and a white apron. Her eyebrows shot up and she looked at the other two who seemed to think it amusing. "I'll be...next door," she said, leaving the two men to change in the main bedroom. Will then looked around and found a pair of brown pants, some boots, a white shirt and a brown vest that were about his size he could wear. They were more work clothing than formal clothing, so unlike poor Madison, Will's clothing. Will was also able to find a belt and a brown and long coat that he could wear. The coat would help with the dropping temperatures. While he was changing he turned to Trew, "How are you holding up Alahan?" Will asked as he had just finished up putting on the pair of pants. (reply Trew) "Listen, I'm sorry about all that’s been happening, it was never our intention to get you into a position where you might die." (reply Trew) "Anyways, if you need anything let me know" Will said as he had just finished putting on the vest. (reply Trew) Will then quickly put the boots on happy they were the right sized, and a little pleased, these boots were a little bit more comfortable then the ones he had been wearing. He quickly grabbed his old clothing and shoved it into the duffle bag, he didn't want to lose them. Once he finished that he noticed a hunting knife hidden under the main bed, he quickly slid under and grabbed it and tucked it into the belt. He turned back to Trew and was about to speak when he heard Madison speak "Gentlemen you dressed?" She asked. "I'm ready, are you ready Alahan?" (reply Trew) When Madison walked in he wanted to laugh at how silly she looked, though he then realized that it wasn't the best thing seeing as how he probably looked pretty silly too. "Trew, get out whatever medical supplies we have. We have a small break now I suggest we clean these cuts." <> "That's it?" Davis asked, watching as Trew nodded his head. "Damn...oh well, it'll have to do." It was only a few minutes before they were mostly done cleaning their cuts and wounds and ready to go back out into the fighting world of the holodeck. As they got up to leave, Madison said, "Make sure you leave nothing behind. We don't need them to be suspicious either. Oh and....will one of you?" She asked, pointing to the apron that needed tied behind her back. "Roger," Will said as he tied the apron for Madison "Thanks...now lets get moving." "Right," Will said as they left the main room, "Alahan head to the front door and scout for us, I need to to talk the captain, wont take to long." (reply Trew) When Trew had left Will turned to Madison, "Captain," Will started to say, but it was evident he was having a hard time trying to find the words "I want you to know that I have your back, and Trew's and I'm once again sorry about the deaths of Ensign Divay and Lt. Loyola," (reply Davis) "Sir, I know we haven't served with each other for that long, but just know that I trust you, and that I will do everything in my power to ensure your safety and that of Ensign Trew's, as well as that of Night and Semme" Will said, leaving of any mention of his own safety, at this point Will was ready and willing to sacrifice his own life to make sure all those that remained in the holodeck made it out alive. (reply Davis) "I now that we are racing to find Night and Semme as well, but I think it would be wise, for our physical well being if we found some lodging and rested for at least 30 minutes, maybe see if there is anything of note in this town, or anything that we might be able to use to bust free of the holodeck, and also to gather supplies." Nick nodded, "Of course" "What about trying to get the EMH online in the programme? At best, we succeed in transferring him to Sickbay, and Nymes can get a message to the bridge. Worst case, we have another pair of hands with us..." Nick thought about it for a moment, "Good idea, Ensign. I will have to get into the Programs sub-routines so I can transfer the the EMH to the holodeck" Nick said thinking about it sincerly. "Anyway, lets get to a computer station and get going." Ele said as she moved off. Nick followed her for about 5 minutes until they found a computer console. The way Nick saw it was that all the computer consoles in the holodeck were being programmed by the holodecks computer, so if he could use them to find where one of the ships emergency holodeck computer consoles were, he may be able to get the EMH to him and Ele. He said "Stop" To Ele, "Let me try something" He said as he accessed the rudimentry computers. He had a little difficulty but with his skills as a programmer and an engineer he accessed the Dennison's computer. He accessed it and made the Holodeck show him a 'proper' computer. He looked around, and noticed it. "Over there, Ele" He said as he moved over to it. Unfortunetly the console was right in the middle of a corridor and anybody could walk in on them while working, "Cover that side of the corridor, I'll try to make sure nobody comes in from over there." (Reply Ele) Nick set to work. First he accessed the console and then bypassed some of the relays before setting out on his task. The communications were down so it was impossible for him to get a manual message to the bridge. So he set of on getting the EMH's program to the holodeck, ~Dammit~ "Looks like Main Sickbay is low on power" He thought to himself, "I'll try secondary Sickbay" He said before setting of on a work rampage again. After some time, "I think I've got it." Nick said as he intialised the EMH. "What is the nature of the med..." The EMH suddenly stopped in Mid-Flow as he looked at his surroundings. "Look no time to explain, In here" Nick said as he masked the console again and then grasped the very human like arm of the EMH into a room closley followed by Ele. "We're trapped in the Holodeck with the safetys off. The computer has loaded some type of Vampire program and we have already had one death, we need you to get this message to the rest of the ship. The lives of many - Including the first officer and captain depend on you" Nick said hastily. He looked to Ele to see if she wanted to add anything. "Cover that side of the corridor, I'll try to make sure nobody comes in from over there." "Aye, sir." Ele walked to the end of the corridor, bending down to double check her shoes' fastenings,, keeping her eyes peeled for any trouble. "I'll try secondary Sickbay" He said " -- I think I've got it." Nick said as he intialised the EMH. "What is the nature of the med..." The EMH suddenly stopped in Mid-Flow as he looked at his surroundings. Ele left her post, turning as a bright flash illuminated the corridor behind the closed set of double doors that she had been looking at. "Look no time to explain, In here" Nick said as he masked the console again and then grasped the very human like arm of the EMH into a room closley followed by Ele. "We need you to tell us three things: 1) The current status of the Hologrid, here and shipwide. 2) Computer status, including comms. 3) We need you to transfer yourself to Secondary Sickbay and alert Dr Nymes to our condition: that the safeties are off, and we have had a casualty: Lt. Loyola." "As you wish, ma'am." The Emh flickered, looking concerned. "The hologrids are offline, Engineering override: the computer thinks that holodeck one is offline and in maintenance mode. Communications are intermittent, offline from peripheral systems to the bridge, online from main centres..." The EMH flickered again, and disappeared. [NRPG: Remember all emitters are offline, so the transfer wouldnt happen.] "Emh? Where the hell did he go?" Ele said, drawing a few starnge glances from the holo-characters.
